Blinds
Wooden blinds are very popular treatments for bay windows in kitchens, that are closely spaced. They are very versatile and match with any kitchen décor. Then there are bamboo blinds which impart more of a rustic look to the room. Roman blinds are available in color fabrics and are also good to decorate kitchen bay windows. Caring for these blinds is also very easy. While choosing these blinds, a factor that has to be considered is whether they should be vertical or horizontal blinds. For bay windows, it's best to opt for vertical blinds, because horizontal ones can be difficult to open and close due to the floor to ceiling nature of the window.

Valance
Valance has dual benefit, as it is decorative as well as it provides privacy benefits. There are different kinds of valances available for bay windows in the kitchen. Before purchasing the valance, consider the theme of the kitchen and the color scheme. Moreover, fluffy valances are not appropriate for smaller bay windows, while flat valances for large windows look rather dull. Thus, depending on the size of the bay window, the valance should be chosen.

Window Films
For those not in favor of drapes or valances due to odors being trapped in the fabric, window films are good options for bay window treatment. Moreover, in the window film treatment, a film is placed over the window glass, which permits light to enter the kitchen, however, when looked from the outside, only shadows of those inside will be visible. This is because the film is opaque and reflects light outwards. Thus, window films are great where privacy is the main concern.

Decorative Accessories
Placing some decorative accessories look nice for tall bay windows. By placing a large vase under the bay window on the floor, will accentuate the look of the window. If you have a large bay window, place one or two decorative items on the window sill itself. This is one of the easy window treatments for bay windows.

Breakfast Nook
The lovely bay window in your kitchen can be used to create a cozy breakfast nook. Get a table and some chairs and place them near the window. The dining set should be such that it does not overshadow the window, instead accentuates its look beautifully. This forms a perfect place for the family to sit down and have breakfast together.

With the right window treatments, one can spruce up the look of the kitchen. While taking the decision, it is important to consider the kitchen décor and then choose a treatment which will complement the rest of the décor.
