Wii Motion Plus Games

Wii is a popular video game console, that has been developed and launched as a seventh generation console by Nintendo, a Japanese card game and video game manufacturer. The specialty of Wii is that it has a remote control, hand-held and wireless which is known as a Wii Remote. The Wii Remote is basically a device whose three-dimensional is detected by the console. The Wii Motion Plus is a upgrade of the Wii Remote. This upgrade is an expansion, and is attached to the Wii Remote, to enhance the Remote's performance.

There some technical developments that have been made in the device due to which the Nintendo Wii Games console is able to determine more complex motion. The Motion Plus makes use of a technology that is known as Tuning fork gyroscope, wherein two test masses are resonate due to motion and their displacement on a particular plane of oscillation is measured. Hence, a signal is produced to signify the rate of rotation. This rate of rotation that is produced by the Motion Plus is detected by the Wii Console and it enables the whole game to be defined beyond the ordinary three dimensions of Wii Remote. This technology is so advanced that in some cases, the motion of the remote tends to be more sensitive causing the displacement on the plane to become more enhanced than expected. The second part of the Motion Plus is that there are two axis to the measurements of the motion. The console senses the linear motions (mere movement of the remote) and accelerometer readings (force applied by you to make the motion), when the game is being played.

Wii Motion Plus Game List

As mentioned above, some games were published after the release of the Motion Plus extension. There are some cases where the presence of the Motion Plus is a requirement. Three principle games, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Red Steel 2 and Wii Sports Resort, require the Motion Plus for operation. Apart from these games, there is a long list of Wii games where it is not mandatory to have the Wii Motion Plus. All Star Karate, James Cameron's Avatar: The Game, Backyard Sports: Sandlot Sluggers, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, and Zangeki no Reginleiv, are some of the games where the Motion Plus is not mandatory. The last merit of the motion sensor is that it has an External Extension Connector, which enables the user to plug-in the Nunchuk and the public favorite Classic Controller into the Motion Plus.
