Why Would You want a Vintage Engagement Ring?
With all the options on picking out the perfect engagement ring you can have your virtual pick of the litter when it comes to picking out the perfect one. So why would you start looking at vintage? Isn't that supposed to mean old? Yes, but also very beautiful and valuable at the same time.

Because of all the different decades that you find find engagement rings in it's important to understand the different time periods and what they might mean when you are picking out your ring.

Starting around the 1920's the rings took on a life of their own and the style changed gradually as the decades passed. In the early days of 1920's the rings were just becoming popular and like many popular trends they go all out and put as many diamonds, gems and make the most elaborate bands they can.

This changed in the 1930's when the great depression occurred and the rings got more simple, and the diamonds got a little smaller and more realistic.

In the 1940's although the times got better, the rings style stayed the same in a lot of ways because many people had realized that simple can be expensive and regal just like the rings of before.

By the 1950's there were a lot of different styles, from art decor to Victorian and everything in between.

These types of understandings of rings can help you whether or not you are looking online or at local stores. When you walk in with a little knowledge, if someone is trying to sell you the rings your knowledge may just let them know you came prepared.

That's the great thing about vintage engagement rings is that the more you know about the past, your future gets a lot brighter!
