Why Use Baby Heart Monitors?

Lately you might have come across someone talking about how they are able to hear their baby's heart beat all in the comfort and privacy of their own home and you might wanting to do the same. Here are some tips on how and why to use them.

If you do decide to get one, here are some things to keep in mind.

Find one that isn't too complicated. The last thing you want to do is spend a lot of money on a real confusing baby monitor with too many options and gadgets for you to really understand it. Keep it simple. Bigger is not always better.

Decide on whether or you will want to record the sounds or just listen to them the one time. Some of the more expensive, higher ends baby monitors will have the option to record the baby heart beats so you can either listen to them again in the future, or if you find anything that you might find troubling or want to show the doctor, then you have the ability to play it back for them without just trying to describe what you heard.

Some other important factors are whether or not it was approved by the FDA, and the battery life needs to be sufficient and not constantly run out of juice before you are done using it.

If you do decide to buy one, these are important. They will even come into play if you rent one but not as much. If you do rent one and save the recording, they will usually have a way for you to save the recordings and put them on a disk or hard drive so you can archive them.
