Latino sunglasses are popular because they are nice, sleek and aerodynamic, but mostly because the ‘gangsta’ look. Yep, you read that right, but it is true. A little explanation of the sunglasses may be helpful in understanding their appeal.

Latino sunglasses are usually solid white or black plastic shades that have frames in many colors, but they all have two things in common with their designs. The lenses are curved around the face to fit in a sleek aerodynamic fashion and the lenses are dark and/or colored depending on the initial color of the frame. The reason for their recent popularity soar is because many so called "gangsta" styled rappers are now wearing them in their music videos. Their popularity is along the same lines as Kayne West and his inspiration of the club phenomena known as shutter shades.

People want everything and anything they see a celebrity wearing, therefore, if the rappers they adore are wearing Latino sunglasses and looking tough and rough, and then their audience wants the same kind of sunglasses as well. Sunglasses are one of the cheapest and easier ways to emulate the people whose lives and careers you worship, so why not invest in a pair of reasonably priced sunglasses is what most people believe.

There is also the added bonus of the Latino sunglasses holding the gangsta status with them as a sort of gold emblem selling point. No, people do not really want to be gangsters, but middle class American boys sure like the idea of appearing to be gangster.

How many well bred boys do you see cruising the neighborhood in their SUV’s with the sounds pumped up pretending they can relate to the words of Kayne West and 50 Cent, according to record sales, quite a few. Therefore, it is really not that big of a surprise that this same group is grabbing up these sunglasses by the handful.
