Why Save The Earth?
This is the beginning of a series of articles exploring the need for immediate action in climate control in order to save the earth and or our lives as we know them.
I write this article very confused. Maybe just maybe my wondering questions will ignite questions of your own. I have always believed I wanted to be a good and proper citizen of the world. Thus, from my earliest remembrances Peace was always my goal. I was going to create a community of Peace University and help save the world.
Then one sad day I watched a magnificent movie about the gorillas in 3d at an IMAX theater. Wow it was amazing, then it happened, my physic was changed forever. A neighboring band of gorillas wanted to expand their territory and waged on a war on these peaceful gorillas (or so I thought) I was beginning to fall in love with. The result was divesting.
My point is, even in nature war is inevitable. Well I will probably lose many of my readers at this point, yet please stick with me for a monument. As I try and enlarge my knowledge it appears the worlds of the world are actually started and continued by a very few people who use the rest of us as pawns.
Yet as history suggests, there have always been and will almost certainly be those few people who have the ability to control the lives of the rest of the world.
Thus weather a right or wrong assumption, I believe the only true and viable path to world peace, is an abundant healthy planet that nurtures the masses into wanting to live peaceful lives.
Certainly easy for me to say. I live a fairy tail life, compared to much of the world. War is not at my door; I have plenty of food and shelter for my family and myself. I guess I even have an abundance of life’s luxuries. So what makes me qualified to start this on going exploration into the earth’s needs. I am not sure. Yet my hopes are to start an ongoing world discussion, which may indeed make the world a better place for the generations to come.
I ask for your thoughts, suggestions and recommended resources. Feel free to join our new forum, I have found books by well educated and sometimes uneducated authors to be a great starting point for this discussion. Although a fair reader I have found listening to recorded books to be far more productive. By using services such as audible dot com I am able to download whole books to my mp3 player, listen to the books at twice the normal speed and devour 2 or more books a week.
I think the best starting point for anyone undertaking helping save the earth is Al Gore’s Inconvenient Truth. You may also view the movie by becoming a member at netflix and using instant watch feature.
