Why Most Snoring Aids Fail - And What You can Do about It

Being a consumer in the snoring market can be intimidating because you don't know much about snoring to begin with. I'm going to help you become an educated consumer.
I wanted to talk to you about the snoring aids you’re going to find on the market and why they fail. Snoring is one of those markets where you have a very ignorant consumer. I’m not saying that to offend you as a reader, but just stating a fact. When you’re in school did you learn about this problem? Did your parents talk about it? Of course the answer to both of these questions is no. If you look at another issue like eating correctly, exercising or weight loss the answer is yes. When you understand a problem more you’re able to make a more educated decision on its validity. If you don’t know anything about the problem than outcome the snake oil salesman trying to sell you magic fill good products.

If you want to know why snoring aids fail then you have to understand the problem of snoring and how it works. Everyone can pick up on the fact the sounds are produced in the throat area. As air travels past loose tissue in the throat, you get vibrating and sound. But this doesn’t always happen. The same thing occurs while you’re awake, yet no sounds are made. What exactly happens when you fall asleep that leads to snoring sounds? It’s the jaw that changes position.

While we’re awake our muscles hold specific things in place and the jaw is one of those things. Muscles will keep the jaw in alignment at all times. So when you bite down your teeth will always line up. When you sleep the muscles in your body go limp and that causes your jaw to sag out of alignment. Inevitably it sags down onto the throat area and creates pressure.

So why does the vast majority of snoring aids fail… because they don’t address the root cause, which is the position of your jaw. If your jaw is in a controlled position, it will just sag down and cause snoring.

This should make you a much more educated consumer when you’re trying to buy one of these aids. When you see the snoring pillow you’re going to know that it is junk because it does absolutely nothing to help control your jaw. The same thing can be said about nasal strips. Sure, they’ll help you breath better, but they’re not going to position your jaw correctly while you sleep.

But you should be able to identify that snoring aids like the Jaw Supporter or a mouth guard are going to help because they do work on controlling the position of the jaw and keeping it off the throat. Now, you’re a more educated consumer and can make a good choice when it comes to buying a solution to snoring.
