Why Marriage is Awesome

Everywhere we go we can find reasons why it is so important to stay single and live life up as an independent. No one wants to be tied down and have to answer to someone else right?? Some say that marriage ties you down and straps you to responsibility. Though some of this may or may not be true, I don’t agree. For me personally, I believe that marriage is the way to find happiness and to fully live life and here are a few reasons why:

First and foremost, marriage provides you with an automatic best friend. Someone who loves you unconditionally and is always willing to listen to you, someone who is can finish sentences for you, and one who is always there to share a good laugh. This is the kind of friendship that people dream about, one that doesn’t ever have to end because you chose to make it that way. A friend that you see whenever you chose to and one who is always waiting with open arms.

Marriage allows you to share responsibility and learn trust as you never thought imaginable. It is true that with marriage comes responsibility, but with that comes growth and opportunity. In marriage you will both share roles and will definitely have to learn to make decisions as a team; that not only affect your life, but the lives of others. It is something that will bring you closer to your spouse than you ever thought possible.

For many, the thought of being alone is the most terrifying nightmare and through marriage it can be destroyed. Couples who chose to have children will find the true joy and happiness that comes through serving others and what it means to be a family. As your children look up at you and smile, every stress and worry disappears, even if it is only for a moment. Having kids is one of the greatest and most precious benefits of marriage.

Granted, these things which I have stated are things which single individuals can experience, but having the full package in marriage is one of life’s greatest treasures. Marriage can bring so much happiness into one’s life and it has definitely done that for me.
