Why Go To Church?

If you go to Church, do you know that your role is first of all precious for what you are and secondly for what you do? Learn more about this subject in the article below.
Do you find yourself going to Church every Sunday (which in it is a good thing if you have the right reason for it) to probably listen a good sermon and to probably sing with the congregation some Christian songs you like and you just enjoy the atmosphere. If you are not in a hurry, you say a quick "Hi, how are you?" to some of the people you know, or maybe to your friends and that's about it. Of course there can be many other motivations that people go to Church for but let's see when moved by the right reason; love for God and for people.

1.You are a container of God's presence!

Amazingly, we are flesh of HIS flesh and bones of HIS bones! Wow! So first of all, when you show up in Church, just by being there you bring a part of Christ with you, by your simple presence!

You are a container of God's glory! You are the Holy Spirit's Temple! The power of the resurrection lives on the inside of you: the same power God "exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead" Ephesens1:20. I don't know if we comprehend at least in part what we have inside! It is a good reason that the apostle prayed that God would give us a Spirit of revelation and wisdom to have our spiritual eyes opened in order to understand our real calling, the treasures we inherit in His glory and his incomparably great power for us as believers, as presented in Ephesians 1:19.

Here is the apostle's prayer for us: "And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." Ephesians 3:17-19

It seems amazing to me that we can actually be filled with all godliness! Again I am astonished that something like this is actually achievable! Take a look at this remarkable truth:"to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." (Ephesians 3:19) All the fullness of God to exist in my very being, in a body of flesh? It is overwhelming but God how I wish I could get there! Yes, it is possible, if God says so, it is so! Maybe we just don't have any examples to look up to these days but why wouldn't we become all God wants for us? Why would we settle for less? Remember that when talking about the end of times Jesus said that many of the last will be first! We have that chance!

2. You are a channel of blessings for those around you!

Because God lives on the inside of you, when you go to meet the other people you have something to give! You have God's abundance and rivers of living water on the inside, that is why, when you meet your brothers and sisters you are a channel of blessings for them, trough you God can minister to them, encouraging, loving and performing any other act of mercy and love God has gifted you with. God gave numerous gifts to His Church, and the great majority of them are given for this very reason: to be a channel of blessing for others. CHRIST is the HEAD of the Church and just like a healthy body that follows the commands of the brain, we are doing the right action when we listen to the command of Christ.

3. Dare for much more!

Don't limit God with your thinking! Next time when you go to Church, think how trough you, God can do "immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us"! Ephesians 3:20

Pray that you experience God's best for you, God has such great plans for you that your brain cannot think of asking and cannot even imagine! Just how vast and overwhelming those plans can be? Next time when you go to church ask God to lead you, ask God to let you experience once again the way He wants to minister to others trough you and your heart will be filled with the joy and peace that surpasses understanding! Go spread love, kindness and truth when you are in those meetings with your brothers, ask God to direct your steps and He will surprise you with more than you can think, ask or imagine!

We are not always on the mountain top, we oftentimes go through valleys in life but make it a challenge for you when you are in church and people would like to talk to you, let them go with a smile on their face, an encouragement or at least give a kind and sincere smile, brighten someone's path! If no one comes to talk to you, be the initiator and give someone an appreciation, be inventive and honest and you will feel the satisfaction of having done an act of love! To the One who created heavens and earth and Who gave us wonderful gifts, "to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever!" Ephesians 3:21
