Why do people sleepwalk? Here are some reasons why people sleepwalk and the activities carried out by them in the particular state.
Reasons why People Sleepwalk:
Sleepwalking is a sleep disorder and can be witnessed in a person for various reasons. Our activities during the day can also affect the way we sleep. Sleepwalking is seen amongst those people who either live a stressful life or have a genetic problem. When a person sleepwalks, he/she carries out regular activities while least being aware of the same. This can happen due to psychological problems, excessive intake of alcohol, emotional problems or even during pregnancy. The duration of sleepwalking may even last for an hour.
Sleepwalkers have some knowledge about their activities only when woken up from that state by some other person. Often, sleepwalkers may not always remember the activities carried out by them during this state. Sleepwalkers are thus least conscious about their actions due to their dream stage. Studies have revealed a sleepwalker may dance, bathe, drive, eat, change clothes, walk in the outdoors and demonstrate many such behaviors in the state of sleep. This state can thus cause harm to the sleepwalker as well.
