Why Did You Leave Me? Chapter 8

-Old Ryan’s POV-

I missed April so much. Every time I closed my eyes, all I would ever see is April. No matter how much I needed her, I couldn’t go back to Florida. If I did, who knows what April’s mother will do behind her back this time. I needed to protect my family…

I kept a picture of April in my wallet. I knew I would never move on. I wondered if April has already found another guy…Benny maybe. Tears started to well up in my eyes as I thought about this.

I closed my eyes, and saw April there, just smiling at me. I sighed contentedly. I fell asleep like that, imagining that April was right next to me in my arms. That was my heaven.

-Benny’s POV-

I went to my dad’s funeral. I didn’t cry. I couldn’t cry. I didn’t really believe this. I thought this was my nightmare.

He died of a heart attack. He left me and mom. All these different emotions went through my mind. I was angry, devastated, and I felt betrayed.
My shoulders sagged and a lump started to form in my throat, as I saw my mom crying and crying.

I walked out. I couldn’t take it anymore. Right then, my phone started to ring.

"Hello…" I answered.

"BENNY! A-aapril, got into a car accident, and-and s-she’s DYING!!" It was April’s mom.

‘No…this can’t be happening.’ My heart felt like it dropped right to the ground. I couldn’t breathe.

I drove fast to the hospital. I ran to the emergency room, and I saw April there. She looked lifeless, and that’s when I REALLY saw her.

Her hair was stained with blood. There was an open gash on her forehead. Her legs were twisted in a way that wasn’t supposed to be, and I could see the bones in her torso. It was gruesome.

"SHE’S LOSING BLOOD! HURRY!" One of the doctors yelled.

My mind started to spin. I fell on my knees.

"April…no…you can’t leave me!! PLEASE, you have to live! YOU HAVE TO STAY…April, come on. Don’t do this to me! I’m sorry; I didn’t mean anything I said…" I started to cry and sob. "I still love you…"

Now there was a second big hole in my heart, right next to the one that my dad left by dying. My heart ached. I wanted to die. If April doesn’t live, I promised myself I would follow right after her and my dad.

Then I realized what I had to do. I had to do this for April.

I looked for my phone, and quickly dialed Ryan’s number.

-OLD RYAN’S POV-

My phone’s annoying ring tone woke me up.

"Ugh, hello?" It interrupted my amazing dream-of course April was in it.

"Ryan, you have to get here as fast as you can!! APRIL IS DYING! SHE NEEDS YOU, NO MATTER HOW MUCH I LOVE HER. SHE’S NEVER GOING TO GET OVER YOU. I DON’T CARE ABOUT YOUR STUPID EX. GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE, AND SAVE APRIL!!!"

I couldn’t believe this.

-BENNY's POV-

"You can't die, April...You can't leave me." I whispered over and over again. The whole time knowing, that she couldn't hear me.

She was undergoing a complicated surgery. The doctors said it was risky. I couldn't lose her now. I had to tell her sorry. She has to see Ryan's face again.

I thought about our stupid love triangle. The open wound on my heart started to ache again.Tears fell from my eyes.

"The hardest thing to do is watch the one you love, love someone else." I murmured.
