Why Did He Change? - Chapter 4

-Charlie's Perspective-

I woke up and my head was hurting like hell. Man, what happened last night? I frowned and realized that my entire face felt so stiff yet sore. I looked over to the clock on my bedside table and realized it was 3 am. I heard my dad's door closing and then I noticed that someone was in my bed with me, this person's arms were latched around me as if they were scared to let go of me. I was surprised she wasn't naked so that's a first. I looked down at her and there she was. It was Summer. What's she doing here?

My dad wouldn't be happy.
I had to get her out of here before dad would find out. And knowing him, he'd get his way with something so fragile and beautiful as Summer. I slurred around making small noises. I then felt a movement next to me and I shut my eyes.

-Summer's Perspective-

I was having such a good sleep, I dreamt of me and Charlie. Then I felt something move, I immediately unwrapped my arms around him and sat up with my hair all over the place.
I looked at the clock and saw that it was twelve past 3 am already.
Shit, shit, shit. I am so gonna cop it when I get home. I looked over at Charlie and saw that he was still asleep, I don't know what got into me but I leaned down and gave him the most delicate kiss then stroked his cheek with my thumb and got out of the house.
I went home and I was so surprised that I didn't get into any trouble. No one even noticed.
I crept up the stairs and continued my sleep.

Approaching school in such a drowsy mood was really not me but whatever. It happened.
"Hey cheeky butt!" I hoped it was Charlie but I knew it wasn't as soon as I heard his voice, anyway, it's not like Charlie was that nice.
"Hey Jason! What's up? You weren't at school the other day."
"Ah, so you noticed! Well I must've made one heck of a first impression the other day huh? But really, I should be asking you that question." He said as the corners of his lips pulled up into a smile.
"Pfft. Come on, I just needed to go somewhere for a bit. But stop stalling! Why weren't you here?!"
"Oh, I was at the doctors. Just needed a little check up, nothing to worry about." His face looked like it was concentrating to find the right words, but I trusted him to not lie to me.
"Oh, okay. Let's walk to homeroom!"
"Actually, I gotta get to the principal's office just for a bit, so I'll catch you at lunch okay?"
"Yeah sure!"

Homeroom is so… boring. The girls just went on about who was hot and everything.
"Guess who?" I felt two hands cover my eyes and this person's hands were cold. Real cold.
"Mmm, CharlieChaCha?" I said grinning as I turned around.
The look on his face was priceless!
"Woah, what? Uhm, where'd you hear that from?" He said looking side to side to check if any guys were listening. He glanced at the girls and smiled.
"Just a little bird… who was getting completely stoned!"
"Shh." He said silencing me with his hand over my lips.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. So… why are you being so nice to me today?"
"Well, I figured. You did help me with my needs last night" He said seductively and winked at the girls.

"What needs Summer?!" Amy chirped up.
"Yeah Summer, what's going on?!" Jessica asked this time. Come on, I thought she was my lifesaver!
"Nothing!! He's just being a jerk." I said glancing at him to see if he'd blow up again. Wow, he didn't. He just smirked and moved closer to me.
He turned his head so his lips were right at my ear, "The bell just rang. Or were you just mesmerized by voice that you overhead it?" He kissed my ear softly in way that didn't grab anyone's attention besides mine.

I blushed and walked away with him right behind my back. I liked this Charlie much more than the other one. That's for sure!
Charlie and I spent the whole day reminiscing the old times when we were younger and more careless.
"Remember that time where we were twelve and we had a sleepover? Your dad kept checking in on us everything hour, I think I know why now." He said shaking his head and chuckling.
"You know, you do that a lot!"
"Do what?"
"Chuckle and shake your head at the same time!"

"Well it's natural to me, just like it's natural for you to shiver when I touch you in any way and blush when I say something blush-worthy."
It's true. I blushed a lot and I didn't know why!
"Haha, blush-worthy? What kind of word is that you loser?!"
"Watch it princess, you don't know what I'm capable of." He said smiling goofily at me. I swear, his eyes made me flutter on the inside.
"Ha! You called me princess yesterday, I was actually surprised!"
"Oh… yeah about yesterday." He said shifting in a form which gave me the impression that he was uncomfortable.

I composed myself.
"What about yesterday…?"
"Nothing. I just wanted to thank you, and apologize." He said looking into my eyes. Gosh, he really means it.
"It's okay, I had fun watching you and your friends running around pretending to be superheroes!"
He chuckled. "You're crazy! I'm serious though. Uhm, what happened yesterday though? I don't remember a thing but I do remember finding you in my bed half-way through the night. We didn't… did we?"

"I actually don't know, I fell asleep for a bit and woke up seeing you like that then I took you home. We didn't what? Twitwoo?"
He burst out laughing. "Twitwoo?! What the hell is twitwoo?!"
"Shut up! You know what I mean, and no we didn't! Thank God!"
"Oh, I'm sure you wanted me as much as I wanted you…Summer." He whispered tracing his fingers down my arm.
"S-stop! Not now."
"MR. RICHARDSON AND MISS. ALPHONSE, WHAT ARE YOU TWO DOING?!" Mr. Arnael yelled out focusing the attention on me and Charlie.
Then suddenly the bell rang. Perfect timing!
"Saved by the bell" I yelled out causing Mr. Arnael to fume.
