Why Defrag A Computer
Anyone who has a computer must understand the importance of taking the time to defrag their computers. This article is meant to help you explain the importance of why it is important that you should begin taking better care of your computer if you do not want it to become extremely slow.
No matter where you purchased your computer; most likely it has a hard drive; if it does then you must know why you should defray your system. Most people never take the time to learn that they system needs certain maintenance and instead when it freezes up; they become upset with it and feel like throwing it out the window.
The best thing about taking the time to maintain your system is that it will let you know when it is time ot clean it out. We all spent a lot of money on our computers; and the last thing we want is to have to deal with a system that is running slow or acting up. Most people do not have the money that it takes to get a whole new system just because their current system is acting up.
So you may be thinking why do I have to defrag my system?
The hard drive is composed of platters and disks, and when you save files or anything else to the hard drive it is written in a continuous fashion. You may be thinking well I have deleted a lot of my files from my hard drive; but what you do not know is that even if you delete the files; bits and pieces of the files remain on the hard drive. When you add more files to it then you are just adding more data and eventually it becomes too much of broken files for your hard drive to handle.
You will want to do the defrag during a time when you do not need to use your system; because it can take several hours for the whole process to be completed.
It is easy to run the whole process on your system and once you finish it then you will be glad that you did. Make sure that you do it every so often; but remember that most of the time you will notice your computer sending you signals informing you that it requires attention.
I highly recommend that before you do defrag your system that you back up all your important files to make sure that you do not lose anything in the process. I personally did not back up my files and did not lose anything that I did not want to; but it is better safe that sorry.
