Why Buy Bottled Water Instead of Using a Home Water Filtration System?

This must read article discusses why bottled water can be better than using a home water filtration system. If you are considering buying a home filter system or want to know the advantages of bottled water read this article. You will learn what the best type of bottled water is and how you can get it in an economical and practical way.
What Types of Home Water Filtration Exist?

There are several types of home filtration systems out on the market. Probably the most common and well-known type is the simple carbon filter. Carbon filters use activated carbon granules to remove chlorine out of the water that passes through the filter. Brita filters, fridge filters and filters that attach to kitchen faucets typically fall in this first home filter category. These carbon granules reduce, but don’t completely eliminate chemicals such as chlorine, VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds), and THM (trihalomethanes).

A second type of home water filter will typically combine activated carbon filtration along with micron filtration and maybe additional steps to remove or kill bacteria. With this type of filter the removal of chlorine improves the taste and smell of the filtered water, but other impurities that are tasteless and odorless can still be present. Also, this type of home water system will not remove heavy metals such as lead from the water. Although, a step up from the first filtration system mentioned this also leaves much to be desired.

A third type of home water filtration is a multi-stage filtration system that includes reverse osmosis as part of the purification process. This type of system is going to be more expensive than the previously mentioned methods but if set up and maintained correctly it can produce very pure water. These types of home water purification systems will remove bacteria and disease-causing pathogens along with other undesirable contaminants. However, these systems do have several drawbacks in that they are expensive to install and maintain. The reverse-osmosis filters need to be changed frequently and they are very expensive. Also, these systems will use a lot of water, often requiring two to three gallons of water to make one gallon of purified water.

Why is Bottled Water Better?

Bottled water can be a better choice than installing a home filtration system if you choose the right kind of bottled water. Not all bottled waters are created equal so when you compare a home filter system to bottled water you should look at ultra-purified bottled water. Ultra-purified bottled water is water purified through at least an industrial strength 10 stage purification system and then bottled. The industrial strength system used cannot be practically replicated in the home and combines 3-stages of carbon filtration with 7 other purification technologies including ion exchange and reverse osmosis. The finished product will result in 99.9% pure bottled water and cannot be matched by practically all home filter systems. Given the importance of water to your well-being, it only makes sense to choose the purest, most high-quality water which is ultra-purified bottled water. By using ultra-pure bottled water you won’t have to go through the hassles of installation, maintenance and expensive filter replacement that exist with a home water filtration system. Take the headache out of water filtration and go with the superior solution of ultra-purified bottled water.

Where can you get Bottled Water in Large Quantities?

Ultra-purified water can be found in some retail stores but typically only in single serve bottles in the range or 16.9 oz to 24 oz bottles. Single serve bottles are great when you need to grab and go or move around but they aren’t necessarily the most practical and economical bottled water solution. Whether you spend most of your time at home or in the office it is best to get purified water in 5 gallon or 3 gallon bottles and then to dispense the water through a water cooler or porcelain crock. This will allow you to consume large quantities of water without having to use as many smaller bottles. Since so few retail stores carry ultra-purified water in large bottles the best option is to find a local bottled water delivery company to bring the bottles directly to you. A good local bottled water company will bring 3 and 5 gallon bottles of ultra-purified water directly to your home or office with enough water to last for several weeks. You’ll no longer have the hassle of lugging cases of water from the store and you will be able to drink plenty of pure water (purified by multiple processes including reverse osmosis) in a practical and economical way.
