Why Aren't Things Made Of Lemon Pie?

Didn’t you ever wonder why
Things aren’t made of lemon pie?
Everything would be soft and sweet
We’d always have yellow fluffy-stuff to eat!

If our airplane crashed on the mountain side
We’d all just laugh and enjoy the ride
Reporters wouldn’t pester and harangue us
Because the mountain side would just meringue us

If we drove our car over a cliff
We wouldn’t hear a bang or a biff
We’d just glide over meringue snow
Faster and faster and funner we’d go!

If we sailed our boat into the rocks
It would be smooth, just like at the docks
The boat would just moosh into the coral
And no one would scream, neither silent nor oral

But things just aren’t made of lemon pie
And yes, I do still wonder why
When I fly my boat onto the rocks
Or sail my car into the docks

Why aren’t things made of lemon pie?
