Our world is ecologically balanced. Hence even a slight change in the levels of ecological pyramid may lead to a great disturbance in nature. Birds are a very important part of this ecosystem. They are at a certain level where they are related to other animals or living beings. But do you know this level is in danger? Yes, the massive death of birds around the world has create a threat to every living being. Recent incidents have reported the mysterious death of many birds. This incident have shown light to the serious condition of birds worldwide. Where some people relate this incident with the environmental pollution, some think it has something to do with the supernatural power or may be it is a sign of the end of this world. Recent Incidents of Birds Dying

Well world wide there have been many incidence of birds dying. But this was not always noticed and was just left over by the government, people and media. But recently the death of many species in a short period of time has reveled the seriousness of the incidence. In 2010 itself there were about 8 incidents of mass death of many species. In all these events birds were the most affected species. In the recent incident of birds dying in Arkansas which took place on the 31st December 2010, the whole world was shocked to witness the death of over 5000 birds. These were red feathered birds which fell down dead from the sky on the new year eve. Just a week before this incident, many fish were flushed up to the shore of Arkansas River, this was left unnoticed but after the mass death of birds there were many questions raised on why are birds and fish dying all over the world.

Not only birds and fish, in the same period there were reports of death of many other animals which made the situation more serious. On the 14th January in 2011 around 200 cows were found dead in a field in Wisconsin, hundreds of bats, red-winged black birds, pelicans, turtle doves, etc., were also reported dead in many parts of the world. Death of so many species all round the world cannot be a coincidence. The subject is very serious and everyone should think about it because all these animals are among the most important part of our life.

Reasons Behind the Death of Birds

There have been many assumptions, perceptions and finally the autopsy reports which revel many reasons. Many people relate Arkansas incident to the end of the world whereas many think that they were dead because of the lightning, firecrackers and the loud sound of crackers. As they have bad night vision they came down crashing. But the autopsy reports some kind of trauma which resulted in the clotting of blood which finally took them to death. But the reason behind trauma is not known till date. Well, following are some of the common reasons which are considered to be the cause of death of so many birds all round the world.

• One of the most common reason behind the death of birds is the sudden climate change. Due to the effect of global warming the birds are adapting the hot temperature even in the cold areas. But a sudden cold wave can take their life. There have been many incidents of death of birds and fish due to the sudden decrease of temperature.
• The second most common reason for the death of the birds is the pollution caused by many sources. There have been many incidents of death of the birds and marine animals due to the oil spills. It becomes very difficult for the birds to survive such a polluted condition. Apart from the oil spills, air pollution and water pollution also contribute to the death of the birds.
• Diseases and epidemic are also considered to be a very common cause of mass death of birds around the world. This reason is justified and the situation can be controlled if proper medications are given to the birds. Although its difficult, it can be helpful.
• Over population can be a reason behind their mass death. A fight for their survival, food, and everything becomes very difficult when their number is high and they have very few resources to survive.
• Trauma can also be a reason behind the mass deaths. But the reason behind the trauma is still not known. In case of Arkansas also the autopsy team was just able to clear the people perception of supernatural power but was not able to tell the reasons behind the trauma.
