Why Am I Different? - Chapter 9

Next morning, I opened my eyes in his arms. He wished with a pleasant smile, "Good morning."

"Good morning and thanks for last night."

"You don’t need to thank to me."

We were looking in each other eyes for few minutes. He said, "I have to go."

"But..."

"Your father is coming. By the way, will meet you at college."

I nodded. As Tyler left, my father opened the door, came inside. On sitting against the board of bed, I wished to him. He wished me back and asked me, "How was your last night dinner?"

"It was fantastic, dad." I lied because I didn’t want to let my father worry because of me.

He nodded with smile but he was looking sad. I asked, "What happened? You are looking worried."

"Actually, Rosalie has high temperature. The doctor was saying it's fever but she haven’t opened her eyes since two days. So I couldn’t ask about you last night."

"It’s ok, dad."

"Get ready. I want you to meet someone."

"Who is it? Tell me now."

He stood up and took steps towards door, "At dinner table…"

I smiled. After he went, I got up from bed and got ready. I left my room. As I passed room of Rosalie, the door was open. I saw inside the room. She laid on her bed. I entered her room and examined her. She was sleeping. I sat beside her and put my hand on her forehead for temperature but some scenes were before my eyes as it is real.

"Rosalie is dancing in club with her friends. She is looking very happy. The environment is pleasant but after some time, the environment started to change. It is like dark and nothing is clear. There was something dangerous."
I, opened my eyes with fear. I got more scared when I saw a guy before me. He was smiling. I asked with worried voice, "Who are you and what are you doing here?"

He replied, "Don’t get scared with me. You don’t know but I know you very well. I am your friend. I am here for your help. It’s real that you saw…."

"How do you know it? What did you do with my sister?"

"I am a witch and I didn’t do anything with your sister."

"Then what are you doing in my sister's room? And what happened to her?"

"This city is very dangerous. Your sister saw something dangerous in that club. Therefore, she is scared. If Mr. Richard told me that all you are settling here, I'd never let you do."

"You know my father?"

"Yeah… He also knows me. He called me to come here."

"But why?"

"I think you should ask your father. I should go."

"But how will she be fine?"

"You know better than me." He smiled and left.

I got more confused what he was saying. I saw towards her who laid there silently. I kissed her forehead and said, "Get well soon Rosalie. I'm missing you so much. You look smarter when you fight with me." Two drops of tears came from my eyes. I wiped them with my fingers. I passed a smile to see towards her and left her room.

I came in dining room where my father and that person were talking. They were doing serious conversation. On seeing me, they stopped. My father said with smile, "Come here. We were talking about you. (I saw towards that guy with confusion but he was smiling.) Oh! I forgot to tell about him. He is John, son of Elle, your mother’s friend. I told you. (I only nodded. However, some questions were in my mind.) He told me that you met him some minutes ago."

"Yeah... in Rosalie's room." I sat on the chair.

"That’s nice. (He saw towards my plate) You haven’t taken anything till yet."

I picked up packet of milk and corn flakes and started to eat. My father continued, "He will train you."

I headed up with shock and said, "But why dad? I mean I don’t need any training. I am fine."

"I know what you need or not. He came here only for you. You made a friend who is a vampire. On knowing it is dangerous, you went to the vampire's house, but I didn’t say anything. I am saying only one thing that is necessary for you and you are saying "no."

"I am sorry, dad. I’ll do what you’ll say." I said with sad voice.

He said with smile, "Ok. I have to go for business trip. You’ll only do what he’ll say in my absence. Is it fine?"

I asked, "Again business trip?"

"Yeah. My work is like that." He stood up, took his coat that was on his chair and kissed my cheek. "Take care. I love you."

"Me too, dad. I am coming with you. Drop me at college."

"I am sorry. I am getting late. John will drop you. Bye."

"Bye..." I only said that word and looked at my bowl.

I saw towards him when he said, "You wanna ask any more questions?"

"No. I am getting late. I’ll see you later."

"You are forgetting that your father said some seconds ago I am your new driver."

"What?"

"I mean that I’ll drop you and it’s your father's order."

When I came outside with my backpack, he stood outside his car. We got into the car and he started the engine. I was looking outside the window. I didn’t know how to handle that situation.

He started to talk, "I know what you are thinking this time. You have many questions in your mind. You’ll receive your answers at right time."

"Can you read my mind?"

"No, I can feel you're thinking. You know very well how to control your own mind."

"Why did you say that I know better than you? When you didn’t do anything with Rosalie, what were you doing in her room?"

"I went in her room because of you. I wanted to know ‘limit of your power’."

"I don't have any power."

"You are mistaken. That’s why I am here because you don’t know about you."

"I know very well who I am."

"I am talking about your power and your training will be started since today evening."

"I don’t want to know about my power and I don’t need your help. Why don’t you understand? Why did you come here? I am happy with my life." I said with anger.

He stopped the car and saw towards me with anger. The weather was changed. The wind was blowing very fast. I shouted his name. He closed his eyes and the wind stopped.

He opened his eyes and said, "I am not here because of you. I am here to take revenge of my mother's death. You can forget your mother's death but I cannot. I think after knowing your reality you’ll help me but I was wrong. I have waited for this day for many years. But why you need to do it. You have a boyfriend who is a vampire. However, you ever thought what would happen when his family will know about your reality. You are safe because nobody knows your reality. You don’t know which problems your father faced because of you. You are only thinking about yourself but you are not safe."

"It doesn’t my mean. I mean I don’t want to repeat the history. I don’t want to start any war. In addition, nobody knows about me. If I’ll use my power, they may find me."

"They know you are existing so they’ll find you one day. You should be ready for that day. You can hide with your father what happened last night in their house. However, you can’t hide from me."

"Are you stalking me?"

"You are forgetting I have some of my powers and I know how to use it. I’ll tell you how to use your power and where?"

"Ok. I am ready for training. But I won’t help you in any war."

"By the way, I don’t want any war." He said and started the engine again.

"But you said that you want to take revenge of your mother's death."

"I wanna kill that person who killed my mother."

"But how will I help you?"

"I told you that you’ll receive your answers at right time. You'll have to wait for your answers. (He stopped the car.) Here is your college. I’ll come to pick you after your college."

I only nodded and got off the car. I took steps towards inside the college. He took my name, "Nicole…"

I turned back and saw towards him. He continued, "Don’t forget about your training and take care. I’ll see you later."

I nodded and went inside the college.
