Why Am I Different? - Chapter 10

I looked for Tyler, but I didn’t find him. He said that he would meet me in the college. Where are you, Tyler? I thought and went to my locker. I was taking out my books and notebook from it but I felt someone was staring me. As I turned back, a smile came on my face to see him. I hugged him with joy and asked, "Hey, Tyler. Where were you? I was missing you a lot."

However, he didn’t react anything. I left him and asked again, "What happened? Are you alright?"

He responded, "Yeah, I’m fine. Who is he?"

I said with smile, "Uhmn, jealous…"

He told, "Please, Nicole. I am not kidding. Tell me. Who is he?"

I took a deep breath, "He is John, Elle’s son. My father told us about her, that night." I repeated as my father told me.

"What was he doing with you?" I was shocked why he was asking me like that but I managed my expression.

"He is also witch and he came here to train me."

"Why do you need training?"

"Tyler, what happened to you? You are asking me? You forgot you told me last night. I am weak that’s why I need training to be strong. I don’t know how to use my power. That’s why he will train me."

"I remember, but it doesn’t mean you need any training. I was talking about time, not training."

"I know. Actually, I also don’t want it, but my father thinks that." I told him what happened in the car when he dropped me except why he needs me.

He asked with concern, "Tell me in case if he hurt you or not. I won’t leave him in single piece."

I smiled, "I know you are strong. Let’s go in the classroom otherwise we will miss lectures."

He asked me why he needs me to be trained. However, I didn’t tell him because I didn’t want him to be worried because of me. I spent my whole day with him.

However, after the college, John came to take me for training. I had to go with him because it’s the order of my father. During the driving, we were silent. He stopped the car in front of a hut that was in the middle of a forest. This forest is different from that forest which Tyler made me see.

We got off the car. He went into the hut and I followed him. It was beautiful from inside. We passed the hall and came in a ground. That garden was very peaceful. He opened his mouth, "Nicole, we will do practice here daily. You are to do what I give you instruction." I only nodded. He continued, "Just relax. Close your eyes. Take a long breath and relief very slowly. Adapt all noise that surround here and there. Just relax. Feel you are very strong."

As he said last few words, I opened my eyes and asked, "What is it? It is meditation. I can do it in my home. We are here for it?"

He was looking me with shock. After few minutes, he replied with anger, "I knew it. I am your trainer. You are not my trainer. I know you are not interested in it, but it is very essential for you. You will understand why it is necessary for you after few days. I already told you have to follow my instructions. That’s it."

I don’t know what was in his voice that I only nodded. I was doing what he was telling me to... After half an hour, I felt relaxed and I was feeling some energy that I never felt. We did practice there nearly about two hours.

We got in his car and he started the engine. I was looking outside the window. After few minutes, he asked, "How are you feeling now?"

I told, "It’s fine but…" I recalled about Tyler.

"But what?"

I shook my head with ‘no’. He continued, "You are saying this because of your so-called boyfriend. Did you think why he is forbidding you to train? He doesn’t want you know your powers. When his family will know about your reality, he will be only by his family's side, not your."

"Shut your mouth. It’s enough, John. Why do you hate him so much? I love him and he loves me. It’s enough for me. I don’t need your advice. For your kind information, he is forbidding because he wants me to be safe. And he is not as you."

He stopped the car in front of my house. I got off the car and rushed towards my room. I was missing him so much. As I opened my room’s door, I saw him in my room. I locked my room from inside and hugged him tightly. He hugged me back and asked with concern, "What happened, Nicole?"

I told, "You were right. I don’t need any training. I am sorry. I ruined our date."

"Tell me. What happened there? Why are you saying like that?"

"Nothing happened there. I missed you very much that’s why I am saying."

He said with soft voice, "Ok. Sit here."

We sat on the bed. I put my head on his chest and wrapped my hand on his waist. There was silence for few minutes. He started to say, "Nicole…"

"Yeah…"

"I thought very much about your training. John is right. You need training. It’s necessary for you."

I lifted my head up and looked in his eyes. I asked, "Do you know what you are saying?"

"Yeah, listen to me, Nicole. When I changed into a vampire, I also needed it. You don’t know about you, your powers that’s why you need training."

I was confused, but I didn’t ask anything else. I again put my head on his chest and closed my eyes.

After sometime, I heard the voice of knock at the door, but I ignored. He told, "Nicole, someone is at the door." I didn’t give any response.

I heard the voice of John from outside, "Nicole, open the door. I want to talk to you."

I replied, "But I am not interested in talking to anybody."

Tyler took my face in his hands and made me understand, "Nicole, I have to go."

"But…"

He cut off my sentence, "Nicole, I also need to eat something. I will come back after few hours."

I nodded and looked at him to go from the window. After he went, I opened the door. John stood there until then. He came inside and said with smile, "Uhmm. There is smell of vampire blood in your room."

"It’s not your business, John."
"I know. Leave it. Let’s go for dinner."

"I am not hungry, now. When I will feel hungry, I’ll eat. It’s my house."

"Your father is not here that’s why it’s my responsibility to look after you. You forgot it’s an order of your father. Yeah, I forgot to tell you that Rosalie is fine now."

I had to go with him. When I came in the hall, Rosalie and Rowan's mom were there. They were having dinner and enjoying, but as they saw me, they got silent. I ignored them. I was glad that Rosalie was fine. We had dinner silently as we don’t know each other.

After finishing the dinner, I stood and took steps towards my room. Rosalie stopped me on the upper stair and rudely asked, "What were you doing in my room at morning?"

I also rudely said, "Dad wanted that’s why I had to go in your room."

She nodded and asked again, "Where is your so-called boyfriend?"

"It’s not your business." I said with anger.

"I know but I think you got fed up with your old boyfriend that’s why you are walking out with your new boyfriend now."

"What are you saying, old and new, Rosalie? I have only one boyfriend, Tyler. And you know very well it."

"Then what are you doing with John? You came back with him that’s why I am asking."

An idea came in my mind. I understood how to get rid of him. I said, "Rosalie, what is your problem? John is not just like any other stupid boys who have crushes on you. I know him very well. He will never have crush on you. If you want, you can try." I smiled and left. I was enjoying her shocking face. I knew Rosalie very well. She will do anything to take revenge of her insult. It will give benefit to me. I will get to spend my more time with Tyler.
