Whole Wheat Banana Bread Recipe
Ingredients
- Whole wheat flour 2 cups
- Ripe bananas 3 medium size
- Unsalted butter ½ cup
- Eggs 2
- Baking soda ½ teaspoon
- Baking powder 1 teaspoon
- Sugar 1 cup
- Salt ½ teaspoon
- Sour cream ½ cup
- Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
- Sieve the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt together.
- In a large bowl, beat eggs, one at a time, and gradually add cream, butter and sugar. Mix well with an electric mixer.
- Peel the bananas and cut them into pieces. Mash the bananas.
- Take 1 cup of mashed bananas and add sour cream and stir well until it is perfectly blended.
- Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry flour and the banana mix to the butter mix, stirring well after each addition.
- Pour the whole wheat bread batter into the greased loaf pan.
- Bake in a preheated oven to 325 degrees F.
- If a bread knife inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean, then be sure that the delicious whole wheat banana bread is ready.

- ⅓ cup apple sauce ( If you add oil instead of apple sauce, the bread will be more moist. But the apple sauce makes it low fat and the flavor is good.)
- 1 ¾ cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup mashed ripe bananas
- 2 Eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ cup honey
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup hot water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
- Beat honey and apple sauce together in a big bowl.
- Beat the eggs and mix them in honey and sauce.
- Stir in mashed bananas and vanilla.
- Add wheat flour and salt gradually and mix well.
- Add baking soda to hot water. Mix well and then add to the batter.
- Add finely chopped nuts, blend in.
- Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
- Bake for 55 to 60 minutes. You may cool on wire rack for ½ hour before slicing.
Muffins

Ingredients
- ½ cup unsweetened apple sauce
- 2 cup whole wheat flour
- 3 mashed ripe bananas
- 2 Eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup frozen sliced strawberries
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Grease 12 large muffin cups or you can also line them with paper liners.
- Beat the eggs.
- Add apple sauce, oil, brown sugar, vanilla and bananas to the eggs in the big bowl gradually. Whisk together.
- Mix the flour and baking soda and cinnamon powder well. Stir into the already prepared banana mixture.
- Add the strawberries and mix them evenly in the batter.
- Slowly pour or spoon the batter into muffin cups until completely filled.
- Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven. When ready, the tops of the muffins spring back when pressed lightly. The color should be golden brown.
- Leave the muffins for cooling before removing from the muffin tins.
