Who To Choose? Chapter Two
Hey guys, thank you so much for your support and I will try to post as much as I possibly can at one time! Hope you enjoy :)
I stared, open mouthed, at Zac. I really could not process that in a way he had told me he loved me. Why did he love me of all people? Why was Evan so angry?!
"W-w-what?!" I managed to choked out.
"I love you, Gracie," he smiled sadly and again my heart began to break. I didn't like to see him so hurt but I couldn't do anything to fix it. I knew I couldn't fix it; I didn't love him back. Well, not in the romantic way. He was my best friend and always would be, no matter what happened. I looked at him again, smiled and walked away.
I knew it was harsh to leave him standing there, but I think he understood that I just couldn't say it back in the way he wanted me to. I went to find Evan and ask him why he was so angry at Zac. Only when I walked to him classroom I couldn't see him.
"Hey, Jase, have you seen Ev?" I asked politely, looking around the woodwork classroom.
"Ah, yeah, he's gone to the nurse's room, dude."
"Thanks." I quickly walked to the nurse's room and saw Evan sat outside, his knuckles oozing blood. I stared, shocked at the sight before my eyes. In all the years I'd known him, Evan had never been violent. Sure he'd argue, but he wasn't like Zac. Zac had a short temper and sometimes someone would just push him too far. I know that's not the best quality that someone can have, but if you love them like family there really is nothing you can do about it.
"Ev, honey, what have you done to yourself?!" I whispered, so stunned at the state he was in.
"I punch the wall outside the Science block. I needed to let my anger out somehow. It was either the wall or Zac's face!"
"But why? Why did it upset you so much? What he said, I mean?" I caught the look on his face and I knew I was in for it today. Nothing was going to be the same again.
"Well, he knew how I felt about you. He knew that I was in love with you first. HE KNEW! Then he comes and tells me that he loves you? What friend does that to you? You know, I always thought he was no good for us. It just goes to show that sometimes your instincts can be right!" he rambled on and I had no idea what he was talking about.
"Wait a minute! Are you trying to tell me that you love me too?!"
"Yes."
"W-w-what?!" I managed to choked out.
