Who Needs An Eating Disorder Because Of A Dysfunctional Relationship!
Eating disorders are not always a permanent condition. Who needs a dysfunctional relationship to add fuel to the fire!
As supportive as friends may be it is still an embarrassment. They start to feel isolated, inadequate and are unsure of how their friends may react. The dysfunctional relationship makes them feel powerless over their eating disorder. Their situation may also be complicated by the control associated with their abusive partner.
Many women develop eating orders under these circumstances and the types of disorders vary. Some will eat more because it helps to sooth the stress and others will eat less because they feel too depressed to consume food. They are on an emotional roller coaster and don't know where to turn. There are more and more support groups available but still many women refrain from using these resources because they feel shame. Why me!
The simple solution to this problem is to get out of the dysfunctional relationship. This is easier said than done. If the relationship is worth salvaging and both whole heatedly commit; it might have a chance. First and foremost the physical and mental abuse has to stop. It is my personal belief that once the damage is done there is no room for reconciliation.
