Who are You?

How do you feel when Jesus sees the real you?
Easter April 8th 2007

Who are you? Think about it. Don’t answer out loud, just think about all you are, the good and the bad.

Imagine that you are in a room that contains only you and Jesus. He is looking at you with a look of Love, and when you look at him, you see that he can see everything that you are. He knows every thought you’ve ever had. Everything you have done, even when you thought no one was looking. You feel this total exposure and there’s nowhere to hide. Jesus is looking right through every bit of protection that you put up. He knows the answer to your question of ‘Who are you?’ He knows who you are.

Everything that you’ve ever done wrong begins to tug at your heart. The sins that you willingly did he not only knows about, but he took the punishment for them.
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5: 6-8 KJV

All this you’ve done and He’s suffered and died for, and yet, look into your savior’s face. You are drawn to his eyes. There is no mistaking the look of pure love He has for you…you, you who are reading this or hearing this. Don’t for a moment think about anyone but you and The Lord. This is the love he has for you. Today, this is about you, and Him. This was done for you because He loves you. So who are you?

You are a child of The Most High God.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 NIV

And he loves you so much that he died on the cross for you, in spite of all who you are to bring you home to Him.

Who are you?

You are a child of The Most High God.

And when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. 1 Corinthians 11:24-26 NIV
