Whitney Houston Denies Reconciliation Rumors

Houston and Brown were spotted having dinner together on Sunday at Dan Tana’s restaurant in West Hollywood. Houston was in town to perform at a pre-Grammy party hosted by Clive Davis on Saturday. She skipped the actual ceremony to have dinner with Brown. Since then the rumors that the two are getting back together have been circulating. Nancy Seltzer, Houston’s rep, reportedly said, "It was a one-night dinner between divorcing parents for the sake of their daughter. They are not reuniting."

Joining Houston and Brown at dinner was their daughter, Bobbi Kristina, her friend and her friend’s mother. Houston and Brown announced their separation after 14-years of marriage in early September. She then filed for divorce in October seeking full custody of Bobbi Kristina with visitation rights for Brown. Just last week, Houston petitioned the courts to "fast track" the divorce.

The couple’s 14-yer marriage was marred by drug and alcohol abuse, stints in rehab, alleged domestic abuse, and reported infidelity. A source close to the couple said that the marriage hit rock bottom last fall and the couple was "fighting all the time." The source said, "They fought like cats and dogs. They would fight about what to eat for dinner, about who wasn’t cleaning out the dishwasher. Stupid things. But they were always yelling." Houston, who was spiraling into deep dark well of drug abuse, has reportedly been cleaning up her act and working with Davis on a new album. It was sad to see someone with so much talent descend into that kind of world. Maybe with Brown out of the picture she will be able to get her act together. Hopefully the dinner date was not an indication of what is to come. It seems as if Houston is unable to take control of her life when Brown is around.
