Whitney Houston to Make a Comeback?

It was recently reported that singer Whitney Houston, 43, has split from singer Bobby Brown, her husband of almost 14-years. Now she claims to be ready to make a musical comeback and get her life in order. Houston filed for separation on September 8 citing "irreconcilable differences" and is taking the first steps to dissolving her tumultuous marriage that has been filled with abuse, infidelity, and drug use. A source close to the couple said that Houston and Brown, 37, have contemplated divorce "dozens of times" but neither has moved forward to end their marriage.

Reportedly, Houston is now ready to move forward with the divorce because she has gotten herself clean and sees that her relationship with Brown is detrimental to her well being. It has been reported that music mogul Clive Davis staged an intervention at the request of Courtney Love. A source close to Houston said, "Getting sober has given her the clarity to move on from him. After all these years she cleaned up and got smart. She didn’t need him and realized it."

Her last album to hit stores was 2003’s One Wish: The Holiday Album. She is now in collaboration with Davis and is working on her comeback. It has also been reported that she may perform at Davis’ Grammy Awards party next year. Davis said, "We are reviewing material right now. It is too early to say if Whitney is going to perform, but I would hope she would be in the running. She looks radiant and is clearly together." Davis also said Houston is "talking enthusiastically" and is "articulate" and that the two of them are "going to make a great album." Hopefully Houston really is clean and will reinvent herself. There is just way too much talent there to let it end because of drugs and abuse.
