White Wedding Cake Recipe

Weddings, a step forward for many, requires the best, so why leave the cake out? Try out a few of these cake recipes to make the day more eventful.
A wedding without a cake would almost be like a groom without a bride! Well that can't happen now, so it's important to get that three or four tier cake and add to the memories of this wonderful day. A wedding cake is a traditional cake served to guests who come to bless and share the happy day with the couple. It is usually a multi-layered, full of decorative icing, topped with a small happy looking bride and groom statue. Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients
  • Softened cream cheese, 16 ounces
  • Castor sugar, 3 cups
  • Vanilla extract, 1 tsp
  • Softened butter, 1 cup
This frosting recipe is ideal for decorating the wedding cake. Cream together butter and cream cheese, until well combined and very smooth, and then add the vanilla extract and powdered sugar. Beat again to mix well and use this frosting for cake decorating.

White Classic Wedding Cake

Ingredients
  • Sifted cake flour, 6 cups
  • Softened butter, 1½ cups
  • Granulated sugar, 3 cups
  • Baking powder, 2 tbsp
  • Milk, 2 cups
  • Egg whites, 12
  • Pure vanilla extract, 1 tsp
Sift together flour and baking powder, and then, using a cake beater, cream butter and sugar together, until light and fluffy. In a separate bowl, beat egg white, until stiff and add spoons of flour mixture to the creamed butter mix, alternately with milk. Stir in the vanilla extract and gently fold in the egg whites into batter, and then pour the batter into greased pans, depending upon the number of tiers you wish to make. Bake in a preheated oven to 325° F, until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean, and then assemble and decorate with icing as per requirement.

White Wedding Cake

Ingredients
  • Sifted cake flour, 5¼ cups
  • Milk, 2 cups
  • Shortening, 1 cup
  • White sugar, 3 cups
  • Egg whites, 8
  • Baking powder, 6 tsp
  • Salt, 2 tsp
  • Vanilla extract, 1½ tsp
  • Almond extract, 1 tsp
In a large bowl, soften shortening and set aside, and then on a flat plate, sift together flour, salt, baking powder and two cups sugar and combine with the shortening. Beat egg whites separately, until foamy and add one cup of sugar gradually spoon by spoon, until it begins to peak. In 1½ cup of milk, add vanilla and almond extract, and blend it in the flour mix. Beat it well, and add remaining half cup milk and the egg-sugar mix; beat until all have blended well. As this is a three tier cake, grease or line bottoms of one 12 inch square pan and two 10 inch square, or round pans. Bake at 325° F, until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Trim one of the 10 inch baked cake to the make the top most layer and assemble the cake size wise, and decorate with icing and frosting.

Bake your cake using egg whites and/or white chocolate to get that absolutely white cake. Try out any of the above mentioned recipes and rest assured, you have a winner on your hands. Try out a black and white cake to add an element of dark romanticism. It is easy to make them, bake the cake in the usual manner, and use rich dark chocolate over a white icing or frosting, but in the end, remember to enjoy the baking experience!
