Snow fed mountainous rivers that meander through Ladakh, Rishikesh, Garwhal, Dakpathar and Ramganga in Corbett National Park creates some soft and hard rapids that are best for white water rafting in India.

Apart from these rivers there are some more rivers that can also be selected for white water rafting such as Tons, Spiti, Sutlej, Chandra Bhaga, Narmada, Subansari, Sarda. Go for white water rafting during the months of September to November and March to May as because at this time of the year monsoon rains and melting of snows in the mountains enhance the level of water in the rivers.

Along with rafting expedition, adventure buffs can also enjoy camping at the sandy beaches on the banks of river Ganges. Rishikesh and Shivpuri has some comfortable camping options which provides good meal. Savoring on delicious food sitting near campfire is a moment to cherish for lifetime.

But, before participating in it get some basic training as white water rafting is a risky sport and can be fatal if proper care is not taken. One more thing, use comfortable loose clothes T-shirts (or other light and quick-dry clothing), floaters or shoes-sneakers, goggles, sunscream lotion and bug sprays during your rafting expedition. Don't miss out to carry, a wind proof jacket, a light sweater, towels, and a flashlight- and don’t miss out the first aid box and the camera .
