Whispered Dreams - Chapter 25 The Talk!
The picture of the blue venue!

I got inside the house and hesitantly followed Annie to the kitchen. I didn't want to do this but I had to. Hurting Annie is the last thing I wanna do tonight.
"So Jake..." Annie trailed off taking out the raspberry juice from the fridge.
She took a sip from it and started shaking the bottle in lazy invisible circles. The sign showing that she was nervous as well.
I didn't have it in me to start. I couldn't explain what was going on in my head, I was confused too, but I'd answer any question she had for me. Answering was my job and hers was questioning.
"What do you wanna talk about?" I heard myself ask innocently as if my inside's weren't about to explode.
"Oh, come on Jake, quit it with the act and ... I know we're stuck in an awkward position but this" she motioned the hand with the juice from me to hers twice "is not going well!"
"That's not a question" I said to myself quietly "yeah I noticed" I said out loud.
She arched her eyebrow up looking angry.
"So do you have something else to say rather than the rude remarks Jake?" she asked containing her obvious anger in.
"Look I'm sorry" I whined. Yeah I bloody whined!
"Jake, I don't want your apology. I just want to... gosh I don't even know what I want." She sipped the juice frustrated.
I was sitting on the chair right in front of the refrigerator. Amazingly I had a smug smile on my face, I know wrong timing for that but I couldn't help myself, she looked funny.
"Dude, why are you smiling like an idiot?"
"I don't know it's just funny seeing you so frustrated."
"Oh really... I've had funnier looks to see lately" she teased back.
"What are you talking about?"
"Oh... please.. Jake. Don't put that innocent look. Don't you think I know you weren't listening to a word I said every time we had a lone time? I've broken up with you three times before this. But you being the jackass lost in his own dream world didn't hear it!" she said, her voice calm and under control.
"What?" I yelled. I had no idea.
"Relax... I was just kidding. But I did know you weren't listening to me at all" she said a little sadness evident in her voice.
"I'm sorry Annie."
"It's okay Jake. But I don't regret a thing, you know. I found some amazing people including you" she smiled wide.
"Yeah, you'll always have me!" I said as I went to her side to hug her.
And I meant everything I said.
"Urgh... no way. I'll find better company!"She teased as she hugged me.
"You know... I can go alone to this dance if its way too awkward" she said playing with the juice cap once again.
"And miss the opportunity to take this beautiful thing to dance? Not gonna happen!"
She giggled producing a sweet rhyme that reminded me of Noah's giggle.
"Wait till you see Zoey, she's looking gorgeous!" she exclaimed.
"Hey... how do you know about Zoey? Did anyone tell you? I mean I wanted to tell you...." I was cut off sharply by her.
"I'm not blind Jake. I suspected a long time ago, it's not that hard to see. You have this weird almost irritating smile on your face when you talk about Zoey. And you know what, you talk about her a lot!" she teased.
"I do?" I seriously had no idea.
"Yeah you do. You just had it a few seconds ago when I told you she looked gorgeous"
"But you know what she loves you too right? You guys are like perfect for each other, the only thing I don't understand is why bother with me when you both liked each other from the beginning?" she asked.
"I swear I didn't know I had feelings for Zoey at all. I mean I knew she was special for me, but never realized it was... you know..." I couldn't make myself complete the sentence.
It was weird, I felt my face getting flushed and my hands getting stiff and cold. Before I could analyze all the symptoms Annie laughed.
"Awww... look at you Jake... all blushing and stuff." She tapped my cheeks.
"Shut up Annie... let's go to the stupid dance" I said as I pulled her to the door.
"Goodbye Rosalie" Annie exclaimed.
I stood frozen in my place. Rosalie was sitting in the living room with Noah sleeping on her lap. She must've heard everything!
"Rosalie?" that was all I could produce from what little voice I had left.
"Oh come on Jake, it's not like I'm blind either. You and Zoey never uttered a word about it but we all knew!" she laughed quietly.
My hold on Annie grew tighter and I found myself getting cold from embarrassment. Everybody in this entire planet knew except for me of course!
"Okay... bye rose!" I yelled as I pulled Annie out the door!
Damn that was embarrassing. I drove as fast as I could to get away from that! It took me about fifteen minute to reach the venue, and it was blue all over the place! Was there a theme decided?
"Wow... why is everything blue?" I yelled in confusion.
The music was loud, we were outside but still we could hear it.
"Blue was the unofficial theme color since the venue's name is "BLUE CLUB"!" Annie yelled back.
I was dressed in head to toe black. Guess that ought to work!
"Let's get inside"
When we reached there, the dance floor was crowded and everything looked blue to my unadjusted eyes. How the hell are we supposed to find the others? I yelled in my head. The loud music made me feel like I wouldn't hear myself.
"Why didn't I know about the blue thing" I yelled as I noticed Danny and Rick in their black tux with electric blue colored tie.
"Too busy day dreaming Jake, that's why!" I heard Mel from my back.
I arched my eyebrows from Mel to Annie. "We talk!" Annie said for her part of explanation.
My little Mel looked beautiful in her blue dress as well, and I couldn't help but notice Danny staring at her weird. He always finds a reason to make me hate him doesn't he? If it isn't Zoey, it's Mel now?
I was about to say something really rude to Danny when a girl in white appeared behind Danny's shoulder. Wow... someone else also didn't receive the unofficial theme thing huh? I asked myself.
That girl was approaching slowly, receiving head-turns from guys all over, she was heading to our way. I couldn't stop staring at her, after all she was the only one wearing anything else than blue just like me.
I took a sharp breath in when I realized it was Zoey. Annie was wrong; gorgeous was an understatement for the way she looked tonight. She looked like some Greek-goddess in that floor length white dress.
I was wrong too, hurting Annie wasn't the last thing I wanted to do tonight. Maybe it was the second last thing. The last thing I wanted to do tonight was let that angel walking toward me get away from me. I wanted to hold on to her, and never let her go! The world around me disappeared as she walked toward me with her shy little smile.
Yup, I'm not letting her go.
