Annie and her wrong timings!!!
The same night...
Jake's pov
I was in a freaking hurry to see Zo. It had been weeks since I last saw her. I missed her so much. She hadn’t called me once in those weeks.
"Jake… Jake …. Where are you?" I heard the familiar voice call me.
As soon as I heard the voice calling me, the wrench slipped from my hand making a loud thud sound. Rick looked at me with wide eyes. I cursed under my breath. Damn Annie had the worst timing ever. Didn’t I tell her I was busy today? Damn her…
"Who’s that calling you man?" Rick asked.
"Annie"
"Who?" Rick asked perplexed.
"Dude, Annie, my girl… I introduced you to her like months ago… "
"You’re still with Annie? Dude how long have you been going out with her?" he asked with wide-eyes.
Before I could answer Annie appeared from the corner. Damn… she was looking hot in that white dress… shit…. It’ll be damn difficult to say no to her today… but I will say it… I told her I was busy right?
"Hey Rick… hey baby are you done yet?"
Rick looked at me like I was nuts. What? I didn’t call her here, I freaking told her I was busy. What the hell is she doing here? I wanted to yell, I was in a crappy mood… I just wanted to get out from the garage and get to Zoey’s place. I missed her too much. I wanted to talk with her, spend time with her. Damn… really what the hell is Annie doing here?
"What are you doing here Ann? I told you I had plans today."
I looked at Rick and I could tell he was in a hurry to get her out of there. I would have been pissed about that but I really couldn’t blame him, I was thinking the same thing. We wanted to get out of there as soon as possible.
"I know… but I wanted to spend time with you… and meet your friend Zo"
"It’s Zoey" Rick added with an irritated tone that only I could identify.
"What? But…"
"Look man… we’re getting late…. Annie you can join us if you want, give us five minutes we have to close this thing up"
I was getting more pissed as every minute passed by, and something told me Zo was not gonna wanna meet her tonight. It was not the right setup. Annie and her wrong timings!
As soon as we got there, I could see Rick’s mood change. He had this wide grin in his face as he entered the house.
"Hello… everybody… we’re here" Rick announced.
Rosalie quickly ran from the living room to give him a quick hug mumbled something to his ears, and then she turned towards me.
"Oh my god, Jake you’re looking so handsome" Rosalie laughed.
"Really? Shall we get going then?" I teased a little too loudly so that Jonathan could hear me.
I could hear Jonathan laugh. Rosalie hugged me, my irritation forgotten. Rosalie grabbed me by the arms and took me to kitchen.
"Now Jake, grab me those dishes while I prepare you some snacks, you look starved. Did you even have your lunch?"
I smiled and did what I was ordered; I really had missed my lunch today.
"Umm… Danny she’s not my friend." I heard Zoey say in a clear irritated voice.
Shit… I forgot Annie. I was about to go get her, but Rosalie grabbed me by her arms. And then I heard Rick talking I figured he could introduce her right? I wasn’t in the mood.
"Hey Rick… this is Danny… my boyfriend "I heard Zo say again.
Did she just say ‘my boyfriend’? Damn… and at that I let go of the bowl I was holding. Before I could do anything else, everybody popped their head in the kitchen door. My eyes focused only on Zo and the guy who was holding her hands.
I moved to the hall where they were standing, I wanted to grab Zo’s arm off that ass and punch him. It was absurd the way I hated the guy, I didn’t know him.
"Well hello there, I am Danny here, Zoey’s boyfriend" that ass said.
Man, I swear at that moment hearing Zo laugh, I felt my blood flow in the wrong direction. I was about to murder this guy.
"Yeah I heard" I said a lil attempt to control my anger.
"That’s Jake Danny" Zoey said.
I was clenching my fist so hard, readying myself to punch Danny or whatever his name was, but before I could do anything, Annie held my hand.
"Hi, umm… we haven’t officially met yet, I’m Annie" she said looking at Zoey.
Worst.Timing.EVER!!! When she said that, I literally had no words at all. All the anger went out the window now I was embarrassed. Zo was looking at her as if Annie was a ghost or something.
Nobody said anything, it was silent, everybody was waiting for Zo to speak but she never did.
"Isn’t it a joy to see you here Annie, Jake’s girlfriend, right?" Mel said blocking Zo out of sight.
"Hi Mel… I’m sorry I'm intruding but I’ve heard so many things about you guys, I was curious. I hope you don’t mind." She said turning towards Rosalie.
Okay… I won’t lie I was sort of wishing Rosalie would throw her out of the house. Shit… some boyfriend I am right?
"No… honey you’re Jake’s girlfriend… you’re welcome here" Rosalie said.
Damn it. But then it wasn’t half as bad as it could have been. I was expecting much worse than that.
Annie moved to the living room with others, I stayed where I was standing before looking for any sign of Zo. She wasn’t anywhere in sight. She probably went upstairs. I glanced at Annie; she was now busy talking to Jonathan so I swiftly without grabbing anyone’s attention went upstairs.
I had to talk to Zoey, I wanted to…
