Where Did It All Go
My first short story partially my life and partially fake…
Koyamia awoke as the bell rang to go to lunch. She knew that she would have to walk fast to avoid her friends, who all practically despised each other. She knew that if they caught up with her they would then question her about who she is truly friends with. She then walked even faster at the thought of them catching up with her. She was one of the first to arrive in the cafeteria.
Koyamia then put her head down as soon as she saw one of her friends walk into the room. Were they going to question her about who her friends were? Or why she didn’t talk to certain people when the others were around? Koyamia was yet only fourteen years of age, and already had many, many obstacles in her life. Most of her friends were fourteen too. She was very confused about who her true friends were, but she did have in mind that very few who she knew were actually her true friends.
Lunch ended and of course she was caught. Her friend Char clenched her fists. But not to Koyamia, but to Starratana, she was a bit different. She had many difficulties in her life and some people just didn’t understand. Koyamia was then trapped in the middle of choosing friends.
Char then said, "make me stop before I punch her face in." So Koyamia had to pull and pull at her fingers until her fists were gone. Sinai another one of Koyamia’s friends wanted Koya (Koyamia) to wait. But she still kept walking in fear of char and Sinai starting to argue. She also knew that since Char walked ahead that Sinai would soon question Koya. So she almost started running to get away. She tripped and hit her head, and she was knocked unconscious. She awoke in the nurses office with a migraine head ache, and the feel of cold on her head because of an ice pack.
She started to cry in fear because of how huge the bump felt. Her friends were sitting in the chairs in front of the nurses office. Most seemed scared but the others must have known that she was alright. Char seemed to be most afraid. But Koya knew she was just as afraid as she was. Koya called Char over they cried together and talked. Char said, "The nurse called your mom to come and get you. I think that she is going to take you home."
When Koya went to school her friends didn’t seem to be fighting until the night of the dance. That had to be the worst dance Koya could have ever experienced. She went home crying in fear she would soon have no friends left. But she was told not to worry and let her friends cool off. So she did, and of course there were still fights she was not going to try and solve it. Only because she knew it might even make things worse.
She knew that her friends were slowly going one by one and soon she would have yet only 4 friends. Char, Kiki, Kaito, and Sierra. Maybe a few others but these four were the only ones who she could truly connect with now. She had some other friends they went to a different school. And she was totally in love with someone. He went to another school too. But she was still as sad as ever she was losing people one by one. And what hurt her the most was that Sinai was one of her closest friends and she was leaving her to.
She wondered if her friends would ever make up and be the way that they were the year before. She prayed to God each night hoping they would all be friends again. But praying was only part of the way she could get them to all be friends again. She needed to find yet another way, another way that would make them stay friends forever. But she did not know what.
Would she have to invent something to make them all friends, or would she have to force them. But she knew that trying to force would not work. So she automatically crossed that off of her planning list. She was up all night thinking of ideas, she was just tired of all of the pressure of losing her friends.
She decided she needed more help. She asked more people what she should do. They all said the same thing. They said let things solve itself. At first she did not understand. Was she supposed to stay away let things solve itself and then get back with her friends?
So she did what she thought. She stuck with the friends that she knew would always be there. She stayed away from the others who changed too much. She decided her world would be how she wanted it to be. Her life was now great.
