If something has an appeal it does not always mean it has a benefit, being cheap might be appealing but saving money is a benefit. An example might be that some manufacturer or other might manufacture their product to the highest quality but without being keyed to the latest fashion trend. This is great in that the basic need of the product has been fulfilled and it appeals because it is better than some in quality but all has no meaning if the product is not desired because it is not "trendy" and therefore has no benefit for the fashion conscious consumer.
Think about needs and desires and the difference between these words.
Shelter against the elements is what you need but you desire a penthouse apartment with sea views and underground garaging. You need something you can’t get along without but you desire something you THINK you can’t get along without.
Building a home internet business will be that much more successful then if your new product not only has basic appeal but is also going to fulfill both needs and desires.
