When Sparks Fly...Chapter 5
*Some responses to your qs...

Mel-hmm, did I get over him? I sway. I think I liked the idea of feeling that way for him but didn't actually feel it. He is really sweet and he even had curly hair, but I think I was fooling myself. I do still think of him, but I think it's longing rather than the true stuff-the wanting to feel that way, crazily in love, but I don't. He'd think I'm crazy! Lol! We're friends and all, I just went through a crush-they're called crushes for a reason Mel, they hurt bad!
Seriously sweetie, we'll move on and find our guys, there's no point drooling over what isn't happening. Hindsights a wonderful thing, but when it's happening to you, you don't realise it at the time. Hope this helps.

Samantha Brooke-I love writing, it's a real passion of mine and I guess I make the time. It also helps that I write quickly and type fast! Lol!

Thank you all so much for your comments! Ahh, bless you. I think you're all way too sweet, but I'm glad you're liking it and all falling for Caesar! Hope you like and comment please...

Also, you MUST listen to the song Lovefool, by The Cardigans. This chapter is based on that song-great song-do listen to it! Also, because I can't italisize, it doesn't work on my computer, the lyrics are signaled with a slash. Hope it makes sense!

This chapter follows on from the last and picture is of Caesar. Also, I need some help. If you have any ideas of scenes you'd like to see, tell me, it might give me some inspiration or I'm at a halt! So do help but I hope you like this chapter...
-----------------------------------------------------

When I come out, they’re all gabbing in the front room. Emily’s perched on Hayden and they’re all laughing away. Happy little group, aren’t they? ‘Ready?’ I say.

They all turn and see me. Emily grins and Hayden says ‘Looking good, Tor.’

‘What do you think, Caesar? Emily says. She looks at me and laughs.

I am going to kill her.

‘You don’t have to answer.’ I say grabbing my bag, avoiding eye contact as I can feel my face is blushing up.

But when I look up, Caesar smiles and says ‘You look cute, Chick.’

‘Cute? I’m not five.’

He laughs and says ‘Fine, you look hot.’ He stresses the word hot, and grins.

But now I’m blushing. Hayden and Emily smile and look between Caesar and myself.

‘Come on, let’s go.’ Hayden says. ‘We’re walking there.’

‘Can we get the bus?’ Emily and I moan.

‘If you’re paying.’

‘Oh come on, Hayden. If you loved me you’d pay.’ She teases Hayden by pouting her lips and he gives in quickly-sucker.

Soon enough, we’re on the bus and I’m sitting next to Caesar in front of Hayden and Emily. They’re cosying up behind us while I’m stuck with Caesar.

‘Do you like clubbing?’ He asks me.

‘No. I rarely do. You?’

‘Mmm, I’m all for having a good time.’

‘I knew you would be.’

He laughs but before replying to my dig, he answers his phone that has been ringing ‘Hello, yeah, no, I’m going out, yeah, should be, mmm, maybe, ok, sure, see ya.’

‘Who was that?’ I ask nosily.

He smiles ‘God, you’re so nosy. None of your business.’ Yeah, I can take that. I’m a terribly nosy person.

‘Was it your girlfriend?’ I still ask.

He turns to face me and says ‘Would it matter if it was?’

‘I was just asking.’ I answer back harshly. I look out of the window and feel like tonight might be the longest night of my life.

We eventually arrive at the club and get in easily because Hayden knows the people who own it or something like that. He leads us through to the top dance floor then goes off to order some drinks. This place is blaring loud and everyone is already dancing. Thankfully, it’s not a trashy club, but quite a high end one; snaps for Hayden on that one.

‘Oh come on, Tori.’ Emily says as we walk across the dance floor.

‘What?’

‘You’re crossing your arms like an angry mother. Let go, please, just for tonight.’ She dances over to me and pulls me to the middle of the dance floor with her, spinning and twirling herself. She is such a dancer.

Caesar laughs at me until Emily pulls him over to us too. Shame Caesar.

Hayden then brings over our drinks and I sip my cocktail and Caesar smiles ‘You are such a lady.’

I smile ‘Thanks. I won’t take that as an insult.’

Caesar downs his shot in one and then puts the empty glass on our booth table. Alkie. I watch him take off his jacket so he’s down to his plain white t-shirt and deep blue jeans. He keeps in shape, I’ll give him that. He has quite nice arms. His hair is also even curlier and messed up now.

On the way back over to us, a girl stops him, which I find both hilarious and annoying-he is here with us after all. But then she walks away. What did he say to her?

He comes back over then stretches out his hand to me ‘Come on, Chick, I bet you can dance.’

‘What did that girl want?’ I ask.

‘To dance.’ He replies coyly.

‘And why didn’t you?’

He smiles at me and says ‘Didn’t want to. Now, can you dance?’

‘I know I can dance.’ I reply proudly.

‘Prove it.’ He says raising an eyebrow.

Not one to be proved wrong, I go to the middle and say ‘Fine. Bring it on.’ I then start to do these tragic retro moves, from the sprinkler to the funky chicken. Caesar cracks up and joins in making a fool of himself-which I’m glad of. At least he can’t use it against me. This is actually quite fun-shocker, I know. He actually makes me laugh as he shows me his signature move-tragic, I assure you.

After a few hours, I see Hayden and Emily gyrating in the corner and I can’t help but giggle. Dirty pair. The song ‘Love Fool’ by the Cardigans then comes on, a slower song compared to the previous ones we’ve rocked out to.

Caesar comes closer to me and says ‘This is your song.’

‘What?’ I say giggling. I mind is all swirly, hmm, stop moving Victoria. A stand still and grin.
‘You’re a love fool.’ He says.

‘Huh?’ I don’t get him.

He stretches out his hand and I take it as he spins into me ‘This doesn’t mean I like you.’ I tell him as he pulls me closer to him, starting to sway us together to the music.

His hands snake around my waist then rest on my lower back and he grins ‘Good. I'm glad you feel the same way.’ I wrap my arms around his neck, linking my fingers at the nape and end up twisting the loose curls that are hanging there. Habit. I do that to my own.

I close my eyes and start listen to the words as Caesar continues to sway us…

/Dear, I fear we're facing a problem
you love me no longer, I know
and maybe there is nothing
that I can do to make you do
Mama tells me I shouldn't bother
that I ought just stick to another man
a man that surely deserves me
but I think you do!/

‘Why is this my song?’ I ask.

He places a finger on my lips and shakes his head saying ‘Listen…’

/So I cry, and I pray and I beg

Love me love me
say that you love me
fool me fool me
go on and fool me
love me love me
pretend that you love me
lead me lead me
just say that you need me/

‘Who are you saying I’m a love fool for?’ I ask.

‘Well you’re not a love fool for me…’ He smiles ‘Or are you?’ He whispers gently into my ear, the words tickle in and he makes me shiver. He wishes.

/So I cried, and I begged for you to
Love me love me
say that you love me
lead me lead me
just say that you need me
I can't care about anything but you/

He spins me out and spins me under his arms, before bringing me back into his arms. ‘Do you want me to be your love fool?’ I ask, rather intrigued.

He laughs and pulls me in close ‘We agreed on not liking each other, didn’t we?’

‘That wasn’t my question. I said do you want me to be your love fool?’

He shakes his head ‘Nah, that’s too mean on you. You shouldn’t be a love fool for anyone.’

I smile as his hands rub small circles on my back. I rest my head on his shoulder and wait for the next verse.

/Lately I have desperately pondered,
spent my nights awake and I wonder
what I could have done in another way
to make you stay
Reason will not reach a solution
I will end up lost in confusion
I don't care if you really care
as long as you don't go/

‘Are you saying this song applies to me then?’ I ask.

He nods.

/So I cry, I pray and I beg

Love me love me
say that you love me
fool me fool me
go on and fool me
love me love me
pretend that you love me
lead me lead me
just say that you need me

So I cried, and I begged for you to
Love me love me
say that you love me
lead me lead me
just say that you need me
I can't care about anything but you/

By the end of the song, I am tearing up. I get what he means. I turn away from Caesar and understand the true meaning of the song ‘Chick, are you…’ He begins.

But I run out of the club and sit on a bench crying. Oh God, am I really a love fool for Eddie?

I wipe my tears and I bet a penny my mascara is running down my face right now.

That song does apply to me, doesn’t it? I’d let Eddie fool me any time, just pretending he loved me would be enough. Oh how sad am I. I never noticed this before. Do I do all those things? Rescanning the song, I feel like my heart is breaking. It’s true, isn’t it? I do all those things for him. But I do it for a reason and as mad as I sound, I do love him.

‘Chick…’ Caesar begins, walking towards me with only the streetlight illuminating him.

I turn away and say angrily ‘You think I’m as weak and as vulnerable and helpless as that song, don’t you?’

‘No I don’t.’ He says coming closer, taking his jacket off.

‘You do. You said it was my song. You said the song applies to me with Eddie. That I’d do anything for him, well you’re right, I would.’ I wipe my tears away, or basically smudge the streams of tears and sigh.

‘Well don’t you think that’s really bad that you have to stoop that low, with you doing anything for him and he still doesn’t notice you?’ He says.

Oh no he didn’t just say that.

‘Go away.’ I warn fatally.

But he continues, oh bad mistake… ‘Whatever, Chick, you know it’s true.’

‘JUST FUCK OFF!’ I yell. Well, I really am angry if I have to swear.

‘God you really are a love fool if you end up like this.’ He says coming closer.

‘STAY AWAY FROM ME CAESAR OR I WILL THROTTLE YOU!’

He edges closer. Oh my God, he is pushing me now.

‘Throttle me, will you?’ He teases with that devilish grin appearing on his face.

‘Yes, I will THROTTLE YOU!’ I say running at him. But Caesar grabs my arms before I grab his neck and restrains me.

‘VICTORIA! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?’ I hear Emily yell.

Caesar still holds my arms tightly by my side and I yell out in sadness. Emily wraps her arms around me and Caesar lets go. I break down in her arms and whine ‘I am love fool, aren’t I Em?’

‘What?’ She asks me.

‘I’m a…’

‘Babe, you’re drunk, let’s get you home…’

*
‘Hey Tor, are you feeling ok?’ Emily’s sweet tones ask me in what I’m presuming is the night after.

‘What did I do last night?’ I ask. I’m remembering snap shots of what happened, but they are limited. I can feel I’m drunk. I’m probably only merry to other people’s standards, but for me, two drinks send me overboard.

‘You get very emotional.’

‘Oh God, and?’

She pauses before saying ‘Well you nearly throttled Caesar for calling you a love fool.’

‘What?’

‘Do you remember?’

I think back really hard and don’t. I am such a light weight, I knew this would happen.

‘What’s a love fool?’

‘You know the song? The Cardigans?’

I’m stumped.

‘Let me play it to you.’ She loads up you tube and plays me the song.

Oh, I remember now. Oh Victoria, seriously. What did you do?

‘I bet he thinks I’m a lunatic for launching at him like that.’ I say, cringing at the thought. I knew it was a bad idea to go.

She laughs ‘God, it was funny, Tor. You were literally going to strangle him.’

‘He must have deserved it then.’ I say in my defence.

She laughs ‘He was worried about you.’

‘Doubt it.’

‘He was. He asked if we needed any help, but I said he could go, mainly because I thought you were going to attack him if came any closer to you.’

‘I am never doing that again. I made a complete fool myself, genius idea, Em. Thanks.’ I say irritably.

She hugs me and then Hayden comes out of her bedroom and smiles at me ‘Are you ok, Tor?’

I nod and Emily grins at him. They’ve had sex. I can just tell. The smirks on their faces say it all.

‘That Caesar is one nice guy, Tor.’ He says at my door frame, stretching out his perfectly toned abs.

‘I didn’t know you were gay, Hayden.’ I reply.

He laughs sarcastically and sticks his finger up at me ‘Tetchy, Miss Rainford.’

‘I’m going back to sleep. Maybe if I wake up it won’t have actually happened.’ I say.

Emily kisses my forehead and says ‘Why? Before you broke down crying, you were actually having a good time. I could tell. You two were having such a laugh dancing together. Oh, and loving the funky chicken dance. Perfect for you, Chick.’ She winks and leaves me.

Funny, Emily. Very funny.
