When Sparks Fly...Chapter 35
I'm going to take that chance and read anyway...Hope you like and please comment! Love Phoebe
Heylo everyone! Well here's the next chapter and yes, we are coming to the end of the story soon, I haven't planned it yet, but the end is nigh, not sure how many chapters though. Very sad! Hope you like this chapter and please comment!
Welsh And Proud-ahh, I'm touched! I could recommend many books that outshine my ones!
Monica-bless you, yes, of course I have thought about it, what writer hasn't! It would be amazing to have a book with my real name on it and my story within it, but I am only 17 and wouldn't even know where to start! I also don't think my stories are worthy of publishing, but it would be so cool if it did happen one day! :D
-----------------------------------------------------
I go back home after talking to Emily, and Ryan and Ruby are the only ones in. Do they ever work? I walk into the living room and Ruby is slumped over Ryan as they watch some day time TV show.
'You ok, Torrance? How was the appointment?' Ryan says noticing me standing at the door.
I look up and bite my lip, before breathing deeply and saying 'I'm having twins.'
'W-w-what! Twins?! How comes?'
I shrug 'Well apparently I had two eggs, he had two sperm and now I'm having twins.'
Ryan grimaces at my bluntness and looks at Ruby in shock 'Um, that's great news Torrance, amazing in fact.'
I stifle a sarcastic laugh 'No it's not, it's the worst possible news they could have told me after having triplets. Twins, Ryan, I couldn't even get my head around one baby, now I'm having two.'
Ryan looks at Ruby woefully for help and she says 'Tor, you should be so excited, you've got twins, some people never have the chance to have even one baby, you're having two babies with a guy you really love, you should feel blessed.'
I sit down at the table and say quietly 'I miss him so much, Ruby, I really, really miss Caesar. I can't cope without him. God, I want him back.'
'Well have him back!' She exclaims. 'Tor, you only have one shot at life, you need to live it to the full, for heaven's sake, tell the poor boy that he's having twins at least and how you feel.'
'But I...'
'Tor, I know you, I know what you're thinking.'
'What's that then?' I test her.
'You're scared that he won't forgive and would have actually moved on; talk to him Tor, because I can guarantee you will regret it if you do not tell him soon.'
'But...'
'I'm saying no more, it's your choice, but think carefully, ok?'
I nod and ask Ryan for a hug. He obliges and says 'You're going to be an amazing mummy, Torrance and you will have all the support in the world, ok? And guess what?'
'What?'
'Andy's coming over this weekend sans bunny boiler.'
I smile 'What? He's actually split up with her?'
He nods.
'Is bunny boiler the clingy possessive one?' Ruby asks taking Ryan's hand in hers.
Ryan laughs 'Yep, he's finally moved on from BB.'
'How did he sound?' I ask.
'He's never sounded happier,' Ryan smirks. 'I think he feels like he can breathe now.'
I smile 'Good, Andy was always too good for her anyway.'
'I agree.'
'Has mom told Andy about, you know?'
Ryan shakes his head 'No, she thought she'd let you. And I don't think you can hide it for much longer.' He says looking down at my slight bump.
'I just look really bloated, ok?' I defend.
Ryan laughs 'You look beautiful, Torrance.'
'Hardly.'
'Yes you do. Now what can I get you for lunch?'
'A sandwich will be fine.'
'You need more than that, you're eating for three now.'
I mock his face and poke my tongue out 'If you dare smile, I will hurt you.'
Ryan bites his lip then looks up at me 'Oh Tor,' then he smiles.
'Ryan!' I whine 'It's not funny! It's TWINS!'
Ryan then laughs and says 'Bless you, Tor. It'll be ok.'
'I don't find any of this amusing.'
Ryan rolls his eyes and sets about making my sandwich 'I didn't think you would. Now lighten up, Tor, worse things could happen.'
'What, like losing my boyfriend, well that's already happened so no, I don't think worse things could happen.'
'You didn't lose him, remember, you ended things, actually, you didn't even have the decency to tell him things were over, Torrance and you just left him standing outside. You chose to make your life miserable, no one else.'
I huff and say 'I was doing what is best for Caesar, actually. Except everyone keeps forgetting that.'
He raises an eyebrow 'And you would know that how?'
'Do you want to piss me off even more than you already have done?'
'The truth hurts,' He says shrugging.
'You annoy me,' I say full of angst.
Ryan turns around and says 'Yes, I suppose I do, you don't like anyone else being right but yourself. You're stubborn, Tor, you need to learn to accept other people's advice because sometimes, that advice could actually just help you sort your life out.'
'What, are you saying my life is that terrible?' I say in anger.
He shakes his head 'I'm not judging you, Torrance, but I think you know what you want out of life and this is not it.'
'What? So you're saying abort my babies to get my old life back?' I say in shock. How dare he!
'No, no, not in the slightest; what I'm saying is you are not making the effort to change your unhappiness in your life into something more positive and you know where to start,' He says hinting at Caesar.
I take the sandwich from him and ignore my heart as it pounds against my chest telling me that everything Ryan was just saying, was all true.
CAESAR'S P.O.V
As I sing the last note and strum the last string, I look up anxiously to see Stevie, the music producer's verdict. Come on, I need to do this for Tor.
Stevie signals to the seat in front of his lavish desk and I sit down obligingly.
He is the producer of so many famous bands and solo artists specializing in my genre. All of my hopes rely on him now. I need to have impressed him. This is my one shot in bringing happiness into my life again.
'So?'
Stevie looks down at his desk, crosses his arms, then looks up again and gives me a huge smile 'You've got talent, Caesar. You've got the whole lot that can make you a superstar; your voice is unique and different-you have a great feeling to your voice, you can write your own songs, you play the guitar and piano, you're good looking and I think you're a genuinely nice guy who is determined. Really determined, and I like that. I could hear it in your voice on certain lines. Any reason?'
I stall before confessing 'My girlfriend Tor, well ex now, I want to do this for her and my baby. I want to make something of myself to support her. She's why I'm doing this, she always told me I should do something I love in life and if I can make money out of doing my dream job, then that's what I'm going to do.'
Stevie nods 'Well, I'm going to thank your girlfriend and my nephew for giving me a star to work with. Caesar, I want to sign you to my music company without a shadow of a doubt. You are the epitome of what I look for in recording artists; majorly talented yet modest. I would love to sign you.'
'You're kidding?'
He shakes his head adamantly 'I have not seen someone like you in over twenty years, Caesar, you are going to be the world's next big thing, I'll bet my money on it.'
My jaw drops and I don't believe him.
'Why don't you believe me? Caesar, have some faith in yourself, you're going to be doing what you love because you're that talented.'
'What if it all gets too much?'
He nods 'Caesar, I will do everything in my power to look after you and your girlfriend. I know this must be daunting, but I promise you, you're in safe hands. I only take on the best artists and look after them well.'
And I believe him from his track record of previous artists.
'Take some time to think about it. Here, let me write you a contract up and as soon as you sign, I'll get you in the recording studio to record that song you just sang. What's it called again?'
'When Sparks Fly.'
Stevie nods 'It's going to be a number one, I assure you. I can already remember the words in my head.'
I grin and take his contract and I have never seen that much money written on a page before 'Are you being serious?'
He nods 'Why? Is it too little?'
'Little?! This is like...crazy money for something I love doing.'
'Well you're going to be big, Caesar. Mark my words.'
I grin and say 'Can I hug you?'
Stevie nods like a father would do and says smiling 'Come here, then.' He opens his arms and gives me a big hug and tears start to roll down my cheeks 'Thank you so much. I mean it, I will work my arse off and you won't regret it.'
'I know you won't. And let's pace everything, ok? I don't want to rush you and put you under too much stress, especially with your baby on the way.'
I sigh 'That's if I see it. My girlfriend and I split up about a month and a bit ago, but hopefully, this will help us both and she'll take me back. I really want her back. I'm doing this all for her.'
'I can tell, Caesar.'
After shaking hands with Stevie, I walk out of the office to see the person who set this whole thing up for me.
'Well?' Ashlee asks.
I grin 'I got the contract, Ashlee!'
Ashlee squeals and runs over to me and brings me in for a hug 'I am so proud of you, CJ! Well done! I know you would.'
'Thank you, Ash,' I say seriously.
Ashlee dismisses my thanks and looks back at George and Hope and says 'It wasn't me, thank George.'
She's right. It was all Hope's dad's (well I have a suspicion Ashlee and George have turned into something more than just parents to Hope, and are dating each other again, but Ash hasn't enlightened me as yet) doing that I got this audition. His uncle is the music producer Stevie, not that I've ever found any of this out before, since George used to mumble at me whenever I talked to him being a typical 15 year old, but now, at 18, he's like a totally different person, a young man who cares for his daughter and Ashlee and in turn, me. He set this whole thing up for me and I owe him big time.
I go over to George and shake his hand firmly 'Mate, you have changed my life, I cannot thank you enough.'
George grins, quick proud of himself and says 'No problem, anything for your uncle Caesar, hey baby,' He says to Hope. 'And anyway, Uncle Stevie doesn't take anyone on, you only would have got signed because you were majorly talented, so you should thank yourself. You've done all the hard work.' George ruffles Hope's hair and pokes his tongue out at her 'I'm right, aren't I Hopey?'
Hope grins and says 'Play tar pease.'
Ashlee grins 'She wants you to play the guitar.'
I laugh and pick her up 'Whatever you want, Hope.'
VICTORIA'S P.O.V
'Twins? How?' My mother asks astonished.
'Two eggs, two sperm, hey presto, twins.'
She doesn't like my sarcastic humor as I sit down at the table munching on an apple.
'How will you cope?'
'I'd like to know the same thing,' I reply quickly.
'Victoria, will you grow up, you are about to become a mother for the first time with twins, this is no laughing matter. You need to tell Caesar or I will. Hate me or not, he needs to know. It's unfair. They're his babies too.'
Right, she's pissed me off now 'Don't you think I want the father of my child by my side? Don't you think I want my boyfriend back in my life? Don't you think every living day without him is killing me slowly on the inside; I love him like I've never loved anything before. But I CANNOT ruin his life. I cannot be that selfish wanting him back. He needs to live a better life without me.'
'Victoria, you are talking the greatest amount of rubbish I have ever heard of. When will you realize that all your selflessness is being misplaced? When will you read the bloody letter he wrote to you because you wouldn't let him explain? When will you return his calls or listen to his recent voice mails or contact him? When will you realize that he needs you as much as you need him or else why else would he be trying desperately to get through to you.'
'He's moved on, and that's what he needed,' I say solemnly.
'Moved on? I hardly call any of that moving on, Victoria. You need to tell him or I will.'
'That's not your choice.'
'But it's his right. You need to grow up, Victoria, everyone else cannot pander to your behavior of missing Caesar when you know he wants you back just as much. You need to sort it out or you will regret your life's worth.'
I storm upstairs in a furious rage at how wrong my mother is. Of course she is, all that stuff she said was wrong, wasn't it? I mean, it has to be.
I sit on my bed taking deep breaths and look down at my exposed abdomen and cringe at the sight of how big I actually am.
She has to be wrong. She just...
But she's right; because somehow mothers are always right, whether you want them to be or not. It's one of life's unfair battles, you will never win against your mother.
I pace around my room and end up at my bedside draw pulling out Caesar's letter whilst my heart aches.
I think I need to read it.
Carefully, I take the letter out and hold it in my shaking hands.
But what if everything he says in this letter has changed? It's been over a month now, what if his feelings written down have all changed?
No, I can't chicken out. I have to read this letter.
I'm going to take that chance and read anyway...
'God, Chick, why couldn't you have opened the bloody door? Why wouldn't you have just let me talk to you? I mean, yes, you being pregnant is more than a shock, but you didn't even let me have a chance to say anything before you legged it back home. What did you think I was going to say? Well I know anyway, I know what you're thinking, Chick, I know you better than you think. You think I want you to have an abortion, don't you? Is that why you're sat upstairs refusing to talk to me because you want to look after our baby, if so, then I am actually very proud of you, is shows already you are going to be a perfect mom defending our baby until the end, but your assumption is way off, Chick.
I want what you want and what you think is best, but in all honestly, I do not want you to have an abortion. I cannot stress enough how much I don't want you to have an abortion. I know falling pregnant has mucked up your idealistic life plan, but life doesn't run to plan, life is full or twists and turns and different, unexpected paths you have to take. Well this is the second one, after falling in love with me, I know you never thought that would happen, but it has and hopefully you don't think us being together is such a bad idea, because baby, it couldn't be.
I love you, I really, really love you and I need you to know that. I need you to know that nothing could stop me loving you. Nothing. Not you being pregnant or anything else, nothing you do could ever make me stop loving you. Yes, you do piss me off sometimes, but it just makes us normal, having those fiery conflicts that tell me you still care enough about us to put your feelings across.
I wish you would just come down and speak to me, but I respect that you don't want to and emotions are running high, but please Chick, do not cut me out of your life or my baby's. You mean so much to me and I know I was a twat for kissing Abbie, but it was not intentional, I love you and only you. If you asked her, she would tell you exactly the same thing. There was no love in that kiss. It was a stupid mistake and I am eternally sorry for it.
Now I don't quite understand why you want me out of your life as you haven't given me an explanation, but I'm going to try to work it out. I'm going to try to do what I think you want me to, I'm not sure what that is yet, but I am going to find out why you wanted us to split because until I do, I will not be satisfied or even understand your reasons why. I just hope they can be changed.
I hope that soon, if you'll let me, you'll let me back into your life so I can be with you and our baby and be a proper family. The Rainford-King family. I am not and will never give up on you, Victoria, I am going to try my hardest to do what I have to do until we can talk again and understand your reasons why you've chose to end us.
Please, before you do anything, think carefully, whether it is what pram you want to buy or what you want out of life, my goodness, Chick, think carefully and don't regret any decision you make. You need to feel happy about your choices and you need to know that whatever they are, I will support you, ok?
I love you. I want you to know that. I want you to know I am always going to be here for you and all you have to do is call and I'll be there. Just realized, that's a song, but however cliche it may be, I will be.
I love you.
Please don't forget that because that will never change.
Caesar xxxxxxxxxxx
Tears stream down my face and I realize there is only one thing I need to do.
I need to see him.
I need to see Caesar.
A minute later, Ruby knocks on my door and says 'You ok, in there? I heard tears.'
She opens the door and comes over to me and asks 'Oh Torrance, are you ok?' obviously noticing my red puffy eyes and streaming mascara.
I nod and say 'Yes, yes I'm fine, I just, I need to see Caesar.'
She pulls back 'Repeat that?'
'I need to see Caesar.'
'Why?' She asks for clarification.
I grin 'Simple as, Ruby, I want him back and I think that he might still want me back too.'
Ruby enthusiastically claps her hands and throws her arms around me supportively and I cannot tell you how much weight has been lifted off my shoulders just by reading his letter and acknowledging all of its content and my feelings.
I could wait until the end of the world and still never get over not being with Caesar because this sort of love never goes away; true love- it just sticks with you deep in your heart and soul and will never fade out, because sparks will constantly fly between us and that sparkle will never disappear as long as we have each other.
So ready or not, Caesar, because here I come...
