When Sparks Fly...Chapter 37

How did I ever become this lucky? Hope you like and please comment! Love Phoebe!
Hello everyone! Well this could be the last chapter if I don't do an epilogue but I really hope you like it. I cannot stress enough how wonderful you have all been and it has been a great pleasure to see so much enjoyment that you all have in the story. I am eternally grateful for your kind words and really cannot thank you enough for your constant support. Your comments make me write and I really hope you all know how special they are to me. I really hope you have enjoyed the story as much as my others and would love your feedback once again. I had no idea when starting the story I'd end up here but I hope you've liked it as much as I have writing it!

As I said, not too sure if I'll do an epilogue since I haven't written one yet, but if you would like one, do tell me and I'll get to work on it right away!

Thank you everyone, honestly you don't know how happy you make me feel! Have a lovely Christmas and New Year if I don't post before that. Much love and hope you like! Please adore the picture-it totally rocks! :D
----------------------------------------------------------------
It's August today and I am very heavily pregnant. I'm due in exactly a month's time for forty weeks, but apparently full term for twins is 38 weeks, so the time is nearing! Honestly, my bump is so big now that I'm finding it hard to do anything, maybe its worse because I am pretty lazy, but it is huge! If these babies don't come out soon, there will be trouble!

'Can you bring some lemonade in, Tor?' Emily calls out from my living room.

I grab the lemonade and say 'Who is the pregnant one here?!'

Emily giggles and says 'I'm sorry, I forgot.'

'Really? You can hardly miss me, Em.'

She laughs and I sit down next to her as I switch the TV on to watch Caesar's live performance. He's performing at this festival which is being aired on TV thankfully; I couldn't go and see him live, it's too hard with this huge bump. Anyway, this way is much more perfect, spending it with my best friend and watching him on TV. Hayden went with Caesar instead so everyone was pleased.

I then get kicked by one baby and I groan 'Owww.'

'Are you ok?!' Emily exclaims worriedly.

I look at her perplexed and smile 'Sorry, one baby just kicked, I'm fine.'

'Can I feel?' She asks.

'Sure.' I take her warm hand and place it on my tummy and say 'You might have to wait a while.'

But then one baby kicks 'Or not.'

Emily's eyes look at me in utter astonishment 'You are so lucky, Tor.'

I grin knowing full well how lucky I am. 'I know.'

We then see Caesar walk on stage and Emily jumps up and down 'I still get so excited seeing him on TV!'

'Me too,' I beam.

I look at Caesar on stage and he just received the loudest applause so far. He looks so good on stage, he's much more comfortable and with some voice training his voice has improved more than anyone thought was possible. He's been hailed the new singing sensation and I'm not surprised, he's incredibly talented at what he does. 'Did you hear that babies? That's your daddy on stage.'

Caesar takes the microphone and starts getting the audience involved clapping along with him before he belts out his number one song 'When Sparks Fly', oh yes, he got to number one four weeks ago and has stayed at the top since then. He was over the moon when he found out, so was I, I even cried. It was such an amazing moment knowing the whole country loved Caesar as much as I did, well, not equally, but near enough!

He's done so well this past year. He has worked so hard to make everything as easy and simple for us as possible. He bought this perfect apartment way back in April this year which is in Brighton, just outside the sea front, so we're near his family and near London. The flat is beautiful; it's just like Monica and Chandlers in friends. Caesar was amused by my 'creative' sense of style when decorating, but the flat now looks like a home, with bright and quirky furnishings. There are four bedrooms, which is amazing in itself. We got started on the nursery ages ago and it is ready to be used now, if only our babies would decide to come out!

Emily and I listen to Caesar, both being entranced by his sultry serenade and at the end we both clap like we're in the crowd, where he thanks the audience before leaving. He's doing fewer shows now since we're getting closer to the due date.

'He's so good, Tor,' Emily says stuffing her face with popcorn.

'Yes, he really is.'
*
I start to feel two hands gently moving me and I lazily open my eyes 'You sleepy, baby?' Caesar asks looking down at me on the sofa.

I nod and see Hayden carrying Emily out 'We'll see you real soon, babe, take care and we'll be waiting eagerly for your new arrivals,' He says quietly.

I smile at Hayden and blow him a kiss 'Tell Emily I love her.'

He nods and waves goodbye to us both.

I look up to Caesar and say 'You cannot carry me, you will break your back, just help me up.'

Caesar grins and does as he's told and I ask 'Did you two have a good time?'

'Yeah, we went out for a quick drink afterwards, what about you two? Looks like you ate enough,' He teases.

I playfully scold him with my eyes 'You're so cheeky! I will remind you I am eating for three.' I hold on to Caesar as we go to our bedroom. I get changed into some joggers and sleepily get into bed as Caesar slips in behind me and plays with my hair sending me to sleep soothingly.

But very early the next morning, I feel a very strong kick. 'Excuse me!' I complain to the babies. I rub my bump and say 'It's sleep time.'

But then another kick occurs and I feel like this is it.

'Caesar,' I prod him hoping to wake him up quietly, but then another overwhelming kick takes place and I scream out 'OWWWW!'

Caesar turns quickly and says 'What? What? What? Are you ok?'

I shake my head quickly and a gush of water leaves from between my legs and I feel like crying 'No no no no no! Caesar, I think my waters have just broken!'

Caesar looks at me in a blind panic then says 'Um, it's ok; let's just get you to hospital.'

'But...'

'Baby, it's going to be ok.'

We soon arrive at the hospital but I am in incredible pain like no other. I cannot explain what it feels like, and the pain comes over me in shocking waves and waves and each time they get harder and harder.

We are quickly rushed through to a private room because with Caesar's status now I wanted this one thing to be kept private and not be in a ward full of people who might notice him. He squeezes my hand protectively and says 'This is it, Chick, we're going to meet our babies really soon.'

I shake my head 'No, no, I can't do this, Caesar; my body feels like it's going to collapse. I can't do it.'

'Yes you can.'

'No I can't.'

We have this same argument for the next ten hours when the pain really starts to peak 'NOOOOO! I can't do this anymore, please stop this! I feel like I'm going to die.'

'Sweetheart, calm down, you're doing so well, keep at it, ok?' Caesar says wiping my forehead.

I bite down hard on the gas and say 'No, why can't you have them!'

'It doesn't work that way,' He says with a smile.

'Now Tori, I can see the first baby's head, now push down really hard for me,' Our midwife Ellen says to me.

I shake my head in protest 'No, no I can't.'

'Yes you can, Tori, one big push for baby one to come out,' She assures me as she checks the baby's head.

I then grab the railings and against everything else I have within me, I push down so hard and feel a relief as baby number one comes out. I roll my head back as the midwife places our baby on my chest so I can see it 'Congratulations, Tori, it's a boy,' She tells me.

I bite my lip and then break down in tears as I gently touch his sticky body placed across my chest.

'We have a baby boy!' I tell Caesar as if he didn't know.

He nods, smiling then leans down and gently kisses his son and stares at me in amazement 'I am so proud of you, Chick,' He whispers as he softly wipes my tears away and kisses my forehead before Ellen takes our baby boy away to get him cleaned up. I then hear the faint cries from the other side of the room and I cannot stop smiling.

I've got a baby boy!

'Is he ok?' I ask, lifting myself up slightly so I can see him.

Ellen nods 'He is more than ok, Tori. Now you focus on getting baby number two out, ok?'

Oh my God! I'm having twins! There's another baby to come out!

I actually start to cry at this realization and say 'No no, I can't push anymore. I really can't.'

Caesar rubs my calf caringly and says 'You can, Chick, there's another baby in there that wants to come out and see us and it's brother.'

I shake my head and then feel some more contractions 'Oh my God, NEVER AGAIN, Caesar, I am telling you now.'

Caesar smirks but I don't think he knows how serious I am!

'Ok, push now, Tori,' the consultant Rosie tells me, checking my cervix.

'No!' I say adamantly. 'I CAN'T! Rosie I can't do anymore!' I wail feeling very sorry for myself. This pain is unbearable.

Caesar then cups my face in his hands and says directly looking into my eyes with his beautiful ones 'Come on, Chick, a few more pushes and then we've got another baby, then that's it, it'll be all over and done with.'

'Push now, Tori,' Rosie instructs. I then push down so hard I swear I could break the bed as I hold on tight and push for my life, gripping to Caesar's hand harder than ever before.

Then, I feel lightness as the midwife brings baby number two to my chest 'Congratulations, Tori, it's a baby girl.'

'A girl?'

She nods and I look down at her and touch her gently her small little body before I start to cry again. 'We've got one of each now,' I say all teary-eyed.

Caesar, who is in tears himself, beams at me and gently kisses his daughter.

'Well done, Chick, you did so well,' He tells me, grinning at me like a fool before kissing my temple and gently touching our daughters delicate little fingers.

I grin as the midwife takes our girl off and our baby girl starts to cry. I swear crying is the most beautiful sound in the world.

'Is she ok?' I ask protectively.

'She's fine,' Rosie says smiling at me.

Ellen then asks 'Does mummy want to hold them?'

I nod and sit up a bit before Ellen brings both my babies over to me and I take one in each arm. I hold on to my babies just tight enough so they are safe. I beam at Caesar as he takes a picture of us three and I start to cry as the realization of what has happened truly hits me.

'Baby, are you ok?' He asks softly, stroking my hand.

I nod 'I just...I can't believe we've actually got them.' I look down at my beautiful boy and girl and say 'They're ours, Caesar. They're mine and yours.'

He smiles and sits on the bed as close as he can to me 'They are, Chick, they're very beautiful, just like you. We've got our two baby chickens, now.'

I bite my lip and smile at him 'I wouldn't have changed any of this for the world, Caesar.'

Caesar looks down at me and gently traces the outline of my face as he says softly 'I'm glad, because neither would I. I love you, Chick, I couldn't be happier.'

'I love you too,' I say my heart swelling as he tells me he loves me. I completely adore this man.

I ask Ellen if she can take a picture of all of us and she does, she's really lovely, actually despite me shouting at her during the birth. Caesar sits really close next to me and looks down adoringly at all of us.

I then take the opportunity to look at both of our babies. First our boy, my beautiful little boy; he's got his daddy's chesnutty brown hair already, he has a thick mop which looks like it's going to curl just like Caesar's. He's got the most precious features in the world too; he has my nose, as cute as anything and the thickest bambi like lashes I have ever seen. He then opens his eyes lazily to reveal doughy brown eyes. His skin is so soft and flawless too. I have never inspected a baby so closely before, but I can pretty much guarantee no one is going to beat my son!

Well, maybe my daughter! I turn to my left and look down at my sleeping angel and she looks so different to her brother. She looks more like me, with a slimmer face, but she has my nose too. She's got much lighter hair, but a strawberry blonde color, she's going to be stunning. She's got a thick line of eyelashes too, perfectly complimenting her diddy face. She opens her tiny eye lids and I see she's got Caesar's eyes that mix of blue and green like a chameleon that is so endearing. She's beautiful too.

I look up at Caesar and say 'Do you want a hold?'

He nods, then delicately takes his son and I realize how tiny they both are as Caesar rests our boy in his arms cradling him from side to side. 'They are so perfect, Chick.'

I nod in total agreement. I gently caress my daughters face and she starts to cry 'Ahhh, she's going to be a singer like her daddy.'

Caesar laughs and Ellen comes back in 'What a happy family, hey? How are you doing, Tori?'

'Fine,'

'We're going to take you through to your private room now,'

'Are the babies coming too?' I ask quickly.

She nods 'Of course they are, they want to be with their brilliant mummy. Then you can get some rest, you've had a tough old day.'

I look at my babies and say to Caesar 'Will you watch them if I have a quick nap?'

'Of course.'

So after I'm wheeled to our private room, I step off the bed and lay on my new comfy one. This room is really special, and this is what you get if you go private, something we could never have afforded if Caesar hadn't had worked so bloody hard. I owe him a tremendous amount for making this whole experience that much smoother.

Caesar walks over to the bed and helps me in and I lean up and kiss him 'I love you so much, Mr King.'

He laughs at the use of his surname 'I love you more, Miss Rainford, now shut those eyes and get some sleep, I'm watching the babies so you don't need to worry,' He winks and gives me another kiss before sitting down in the chair near where the babies are.

Hours later, I wake up and as guaranteed, Caesar is still watching over the babies; he sees that I've woken up and comes and sits next to me 'Hey gorgeous, you ok?'

I nod and hold his hand 'The babies are doing fine. Our girl has been a bit grizzly, but she's ok now.'

I look over at them and ask 'Are you sure she is?'

'You're a proper mummy already,' He grins 'She's fine, just a bit shocked being in a whole new place, I imagine, not as comfy as in your tummy.'

I laugh and ask 'Will you bring them to me please?'

'Sure.'

So Caesar brings our twins over to me and I take one in each arm and smile down at them. I cannot stop smiling; they just bring pure happiness to me. 'What shall we call you, hey? No silly name like your daddy.'

I grin at Caesar and he pokes his tongue out. He sits and rubs my thigh as we look at our babies for names.

'I think our son looks like a Luke,' He suggests.

I look down and he opens his eyes 'Ahh, I think he likes it too. Luke. I really like that.'

'Then Luke he shall be.'

I grin. I look at our daughter and say 'Can I suggest a name?'

'Baby, she's yours, you can name her.'

I blush and say 'Well I think she looks like a Florence and I've always loved the name.'

Caesar looks at her and says 'I totally agree. It's a beautiful name. It means like flower, doesn't it?'

I grin 'She's my baby flower.'

I look at both the twins and say 'Luke and Florence. They're perfect. Um, also, for middle names, I know my mom will hate me for not using her name, but it would mean so much if we used our friends names for them, they mean so much to us and I really would love that is we did, so Florence Emily and Luke Mac?'

Caesar wrinkles his nose 'I love Florence Emily, that's perfect, but Luke Mac, well it's kind of short, why don't we use Mac's original name instead.'

'Which was?'

'William.'

I picture Mac in my head and say 'Ahhh, he really looks like a Will, so Luke William.'

He nods with a big smile on his face 'That's much nicer.'

'So Florence Emily King and Luke William King.'

'You want to use my surname?' He asks, shocked.

'Well of course I do.'

Caesar looks at me like he's about to cry before he leans down and kisses me softly on the lips 'Seriously, Chick, I couldn't be happier than being here right now with you and our babies.'

'I know, neither could I.' I look at our babies and feel so privileged. I now get what people mean by love at first sight; this is pure love at first sight, the stuff no one can erase. 'Can we go home soon?' I ask, desperate to take my new brood back to their nursery.

'Soon, baby,' He says with a smile.

'Have you told everyone that they've arrived?' I say looking back down at my sweeties.

'Yep, sent the same message to over 200 people.' He grins 'Your mom called and asked how you were when you were asleep, I said you were fine, just very tired and that we'd see them all soon.'

'Can I use your phone to call them back please?'

'Sure, shall I put the babies back?'

I nod and Caesar takes them one by one back to their cribs as I call my mom 'Hello?'

'Hey mom, it's me.'

'Tori! Wait, I'm going to put you on speaker phone, everyone, Tori's on the phone, get down here now, ok, hey sweetie, how are you feeling? Caesar said you're doing fine but tired?'

I nod 'Yeah, I'm really worn out, but I'm ok. It was long though, mom, like twelve hours from start to finish.'

'Some people have over 42,' She says laughing at me.

'Oh my God!' I exclaim 'I would not have coped with that!'

My mom chuckles then says 'I am so proud of you, Tor, you've done so well.'

'Are you really? I mean, are you not...disappointed in me?' I ask cautiously.

My mom gasps and says quickly 'Of course we're not! You've got two babies, that's life's most precious gift, we are extremely proud of you, Tori. You're going to be a fantastic mummy and those babies will be loved so much. We could never be disappointed in you. How could you think that? We are always behind you 100%, we don't mind at all, we're ecstatic for you, we could never be upset with you, love, please know that.'

I wipe a tear away from my eye, feeling quite choked up and say 'Thanks mom, that means a lot. We've just named them.'

'Oh really?! Well spill.'

'Well Florence Emily for our girl and Luke William for our boy.'

'What lovely names, Tori. I can't wait to see them.'

'You can see them really soon, I can't wait for you all to love them as much as I already do. They're beautiful, mom, I feel so lucky to have them. I am so fortunate.'

My mom starts to cry and I feel exactly the same way 'Mom, don't cry, you'll set me off too!'

She coughs and says strongly 'Tori, we are all just so proud of you and Caesar. We couldn't be happier for you both.'

'Thank you.'

'Ok, well take care and we'll see you really soon. We love you.'

'Love you too. Bye everyone.'

I hang up and Caesar smiles at me 'See, they're really proud of you, they were never not going to be.'

'Can I call Emily up too?'

'Be my guest.'

As the dial tones right on the third beep, Emily picks up and says 'Hello?'

'Hey, it's me.'

Emily then screams down the phone and says 'Hey babe! CONGRATULATIONS! Hayden and I couldn't be more excited for you both.'

'Ahhh, Em, thanks.'

'So a baby girl and boy, hey? That's perfect, Tor.'

'I know, I am so lucky. I have something to tell you too.'

'What? You're not pregnant again are you?!'

'What?! Emily! Of course I'm not! Where would we have done it anyway? And besides, my lower regions hurt like crazy.'

Caesar pulls a really puzzled face and I laugh before explaining to him 'Emily thought I was pregnant again.'

'It's a wonder how she's not pregnant herself,' He says smirking.

I hear Emily laugh sarcastically down the other end of the line 'Funny funny, Caesar! So what news?'

'Well, we've named them.'

'Ahh have you? Was it like really hard?'

'Um, no not really, they suit their name perfectly.'

'Which are?'

'Luke William and Florence Emily.'

'Wow, they're beautiful names.'

'Em, do you not get it?'

'Get what?'

'We used your name as a middle name, we named Florence after you.'

'NO WAY!' She screams down the phone 'Really? Or are you just saying that to make me smile?'

'You mean so much to me and Caesar that we wanted you to be a special part in our babies lives, I hope you don't mind.'

'Mind? That's like the best thing ever! Oh Tor, you are so sweet for doing that, that means everything to me. I love you so so much and we really can't wait to see you. I can't believe me and you were eating pizza last night and a day later your bubs have arrived!'

'I know. We'll see you both really soon.'

'Sure, when you're settled we'll come and see you.'

'I can't wait. Love you, Em.'

'Love you too.'

I hang up then lean back in my bed and Caesar says 'Will you be ok if I just go and do something?'

'Um, sure, why? Are you ok?'

He nods 'Yeah, I just forgot to bring some baby things we might need, I won't be long, ok?'

'Ok,'

He comes over to me and gives me a long kiss before leaving.

'What's daddy forgotten, hey?' I say to my babies.

Florence is awake and she's just staring at me through the clear crib 'Do you want a cuddle?'

I get out of my bed and slowly hobble over to her crib and take her out 'You're so cute, you and your brother.'

I then out of nowhere start to sing to both of them one of Caesar's songs, probably deafening them with my bad voice, but when the midwife comes in, she smiles broadly at me.

'How are you Tori?' Ellen asks me, looking over my babies.

'Really well, thanks. I feel more alert now.'

'Good good.'

'Do you know where Caesar went off to?'

'No, sorry I don't. I'm sure he'll be back soon.'

I nod and gently put Florence back down seeing as she's fallen back to sleep.

'I'm just going to change into something more comfortable, can you stay here and watch them please?' I ask Ellen.

'Yes, you go and change; I'll wait and watch them.'

I change into some comfy trousers and my gray cardigan, and pull my hair back into a simple pony tail. I feel so much better now. I feel cleaner and generally happier.

I arrive back in the room and Caesar is already there, he's changed into something much smarter than he was earlier on and has even washed, I can smell his cologne wafting over to me subtly, my favorite smell of all. He's wearing smart black trousers and a smart white shirt and blazer, he looks so well presented. Why has he dressed up?

'You more comfy now?' He asks standing up from his chair.

I nod and go over to him and Caesar hugs me gently and kisses my forehead as his hand trails down my back caringly.

'Much more comfy now thanks, I feel like me again. But I look like a tramp compared to you, look at you, smart shirt and trousers. You've even made your hair that extra curly. How comes? Trying to make me look bad, hey?' I tease, gently playing with the curls at the base of his neck.

Caesar grins at me and gently stokes my face 'This is a very special day,'

'I know, but you didn't need to dress up.' I run my hands through his hair again and kiss him long and lovingly on his lips 'I love you so much,' I tell him against my lips.

'I love you too,' He says whilst nibbling my ear.

I go back over to the bed, still holding Caesar's hand and lay down because I am still so knackered.

'Did you get what you needed?' I ask.

He looks puzzled, and then nods as if he had forgotten too.

'Are you ok?' I ask him, gently cupping his face and then he says 'I've got to ask you something.'

'Go ahead,' I say smiling.

'Chick, we've nearly been together a year now and I cannot explain how much you have changed my life for the better. You've given me two beautiful babies and the best experiences of my life. I don't know what I would have done if I had not met you, but my life would not be as amazing as it is today. I know we've had our ups and major downs, but we've got through them and I think that proves how strong we are together. You complete me, baby, you are everything I want out of life and more, I have never been so happy as I am right now. You are the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me, I never knew I could be so fortunate to have such a funny, clever, endearing, sophisticated, adorable girlfriend who loves me more than I deserve. You have turned my life around, Chick.

A year ago I was just dossing not caring what I was doing, I didn't give a damn if I had missed a lesson and just coasted by not really enjoying life, then you pop into my world and make my life exciting, trying to get you to like me, but firstly for you to understand yourself better instead of being infatuated with that twat I can't even remember his name. You helped me by letting me help you. I've fallen so much in love with you since then and each day I still discover new things that I love about you, like just yesterday I noticed that you always put your joggers on with your right leg first without fail, it is the most adorable thing ever and your little quirks make me love you even more. Chick, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I love you beyond words...'

He steps down onto one knee and brings out a small blue velvet box from his trouser pocket before saying with a broad smile 'Victoria Rainford, will you marry me?'

My jaw drops open and I look down as he opens the small boodles box to reveal the most perfect ring encased in the white cushion.

I look up at Caesar and stutter, 'But...but you don't agree with marriage. You don't see the point of it.'

Caesar smiles and says 'Before meeting you, I didn't see the point of it, Chick, I couldn't see the point in getting married, but now I've been with you for nearly a year, I cannot think of a better, more romantic thing than declaring my love for you in front of as many people as possible. I want to make it official, I want everyone to know that I am married to the best woman in the world. I want to scream it out from the roof tops that you are my wife and how much I love you. I feel like if I don't marry you then I will never been entirely happy because you won't be mine. I want you to be my Mrs King. I really want this, baby; I really want to marry you.'

I bite down on my bottom lip and feel tears leave my eyes as I look directly into Caesars 'Of course I'll marry you, Caesar!'

Caesar jumps up and picks me up and spins me around the room and I burst into tears of happiness.

This has been the most amazing day of my life so far!

He then leans down and presses his beautiful lips to mine then gently opens his mouth and I giggle as I take his tongue in mine. 'I completely adore you, Chick.'

'I love you too,' I murmur as I kiss him some more and curl his hair around my fingers.

Caesar pulls back and slips my engagement ring on my finger and it's a perfect fit. It's such a beautiful ring, platinum with a single solitaire diamond encased in the middle. How did I ever become this lucky?

'So am I going to be Mrs King soon?' I grin. Mrs King, how funny!

'As soon as you want, baby. I can't wait to marry you.'

I blush and kiss my fiancé like no tomorrow before we're interrupted by both of our babies. We giggle then turn and pick up one each.

'Are you saying congratulations?' I coo to Florence.

Florence opens her eyes and my heart melts. What have I done to deserve this, having such a perfect fiance and two beautiful healthy babies? I tell you, I will never get bored of life while I have my three special people in my life.

'Chick...' Caesar starts.

'Hmm?' I say grinning at him.

'I really do love you.'

I walk over to him and give him a big kiss on the lips and say right from the bottom of my heart 'I love you too.'
