When My Heart Went Missing - Chapter 17

Ania meets someone.
I found myself walking to the beach without even thinking about it. I had just left Max in the room and I just walked. While I walked, I thought a lot about what happened the night before. He was just so ready to start somewhere, I had never been. I had been angry with him, so long it feels odd to not be. I still don't even know if I have really forgiven him. Could I forgive him? Was it really his fault that he had to lie to me?

Well, I guess it's not really his fault about lying but the way he did, it was his fault. He was a complete jerk. But he admitted that he wished, he could take it all back. Problem is that he can't. That day and that dream I had, will forever be engraved in my mind. He made me feel unwanted.

Even him saying that he loves me, does that change how I felt? How could I go from hating him to loving him? When I finally made it to the beach, I took off my shoes and let my feet sink into the sand. I walked south away from the inn. I walked over several dunes when finally I came to a cove. I looked over the edge of the rocks and I saw a bunch of fish. They were all different colors. I tried to get a closer but when I stepped forward, the rock underneath crumbled. I waited to land in the water but I didn't. That was when I realized someone was holding me. They pulled me back away from the edge and then they let go. I turned to find a boy about 17. He had brown hair, blue eyes, and he was handsome. I couldn't keep myself from looking at him.

He looked at me. Then when our eyes met, he smiled. He stepped closer to me and reached for my head. He raised and then he leaned forward.

"Hi, my name is Adam." Wow, even his voice was amazing. "I saw you walking over here. I knew the rocks weren't stable, so I thought I would come make sure you were ok. Good thing I made it in time."

"Thank you."

"What's your name?"

"Ania."

"Ania. Pretty name for a pretty girl."

I blushed.

"So Ania, since you don't seem to be from around here, why don't show you around. San Diego is amazing."

"Sounds great. When?"

"In one hour? We can meet by the park across the street from the inn."

"Ok. I'll see you then."

Adam walked away. I turned in the other direction and headed for the inn. As I walked in, I looked down to look for my room key when I ended up running in to someone.

"Ania, you seriously need to watch where you're going." Great. It was Max.

"Sorry, I just get out of your way." I moved to the side and walked to my room. I didn't hear, he was following me until I made it to my room.
"Ania, I need to talk to you."

"Can't right now. I'm busy. Going out." I slid in the key and opened the door. I walked in, hoping he would leave but he came in after me.

"Where are you going?"

"That's none of your business."

"We're here together, so it is my business!"

"First off, I am not here by choice! Second, I don't have to tell you everything!" I was angry now.

I grabbed my bag and I headed to the door. I didn't care what he said.

He wasn't going to stop.

"Where are you going?!"

I turned to look at him with tears in my eyes. "Away from you!" I screamed at him.

He looked surprised at my response. With that I took the opportunity to leave.
