What's Your Christmas Wish?
If God asked you:"What is your wish?" What would your answer be? Here is what Solomon, the smartest man ever asked for: wisdom. It surely paid off! "For wisdom is better than jewels and all desirable things cannot compare with her." Proverbs 8:11

What would you ask if God was willing to grant you one wish? Have you ever wondered? Hmmm, quite interesting to have God appear to you and ask you what is your wish and to have it granted at once!
Money, houses, cars, a great friend, the perfect man or the perfect woman...or health for a loved one ... there are sooo many needs! To inspire you, I want to show you what the wisest man on earth asked from God.
I will introduce him first, his name was Solomon and he was the son of King David and Bat Sheba; King David reined in Israel from 1037 to 998 B.C. Solomon is well-known for the wisdom he was gifted with. His proverbs are a source of wisdom indeed and give precious lessons for life; we don't live enough to make all the mistakes and learn from them, you know.
His story goes like that:
"...the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream at night; and God said, "Ask what you wish me to give you." Quite a question isn't it! I wish God asked me that question as well...
I don't know what your request would have been, but Solomon had the inspiration to ask the following:
"...give Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people to discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?" 1 Kings 3:5,9
"It was pleasing in the sight of the Lord that Solomon had asked this thing. God said to him.
"Because you have asked this thing and have not asked for yourself long life, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have you asked for the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself discernment to understand justice, behold, I have done according to your words behold, I have given you a wise and discerning heart, so that there has been no one like you before you, nor shall one like you arise after you. I have also given you what you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that there will not be any among the kings like you all your days.
If you walk in My ways, keeping My statutes and commandments, as your father David walked, then I will prolong your days." 1 Kings 4:29-34
It is amazing to see how when he asked God for the right thing, God gave him all the other things he could possibly ask for: reaches, fame like no one else had plus a long life. Yes, God said He would give these things to Solomon but did He really give them? Yes God surely did:
"Now God gave Solomon wisdom and very great discernment and breadth of mind, like the sand that is on the seashore. Solomon's wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the sons of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt. For he was wiser than all men... and his fame was known in all the surrounding nations.
He also spoke 3,000 proverbs, and his songs were 1,005. Men came from all the people to hear the Wisdom of Solomon, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom."
You know, the Bible says that even today the ones who ask God for wisdom will receive it! Moreover, not just a bit, but abundantly for the almighty God gives it with generosity!
"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him." James 1:5
You can ask for wisdom just like Solomon did and God will give it to you generously! Isn't that awesome?!
Bear with me for a minute, imagine yourself being even wiser then you are, wouldn't that be great? Of course, wisdom will show its fruit in every dominium of your life, it will eventually help you get a better job, buy a better house, marry the best person for you and countless best decisions!
However, more than all your achievements for this life, you will get a great life perspective, God's eternal perspective.
" ...The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him." Ephesians 1:17
I wish you the merriest Christmas ever and may you be blessed with God's wisdom in every dominium of your life! Don't forget to add "wisdom" on your Christmas wishes list!
