"Whatever Happens, Happens for a Reason" True or False...Ch 9
Sorry for the delay but I was not well, that's why this chapter is also short..............Thanks for the comments
There was nothing to pack just to carry their bags. Neha, Ninaz and Ayesha again went and relieve their bladder. They informed Ayesha’s daddy that they were coming, and also Ayesha was informed about it. Ayesha was quite excited about reaching home and meeting her parents. Her fever had come down and now was okay, they had decided to carry Ayesha if water became too deep. Neha, Ravi and Abhishek had decided take turns in carrying Ayesha. Ninaz had argued but finally she had accepted it, they all started walking from the platform. Neha wanted to go from the road but they wanted to avoid water as much as they could. She didn’t want Lasika waiting for Abhi, what if she asked them to let her come.
Now she knew that Abhi liked HER but she had this tiniest doubt that he might like Lasika more. But thankfully there was no sign of Lasika but the station was less crowded as there were many people on the road. To call it a road would be an understatement as there was no road surface to be seen. There was only water, vehicles and people visible. As they started crossing the platform, there was a woman sitting in a corner crying. Neha’s heart lurched at the sight but she found her hand being squeezed, she looked at Abhi and smiled weakly. She held on his hand and continued the journey. McDonalds was on the left side with its shutters down and opposite all the shops were closed. No vendors on the street, people walking in every direction. The water level was till their knees, so Abhi scooped Ayesha in his arm.
Their pace had slowed down as it was little difficult walking treading water, a cafe in the right corner was open. People were sitting there and having tea, on the opposite side there was Moti Mahal Restaurant and a bakery next to that. Both were closed, the bus from they had brought Ayesha was still standing there. They went slowly steadily, but Neha was lost in her own thought, so that she tripped on a rock which was not visible due to water. Abhi clutched her hand didn’t let her fall, if Abhi wouldn’t had been holding her hand she would have probably fell on her face.
"Be careful neha" Neha heard Ninaz’s voice and turned to reassure them that she as fine.
"Are you hurt, did you hurt your leg?" This came from Abhi and when she faced him there was genuine concern for her. It was too much for her to accept, she swallowed, "No, I didn’t hurt my leg. I am fine"
"Ok, be careful" Abhi replied to her and tightened his grip on her hand. Somehow that helped her relax and she also knew that he wouldn’t let her fall.
"Dada that’s my bus from where you brought me" Neha looked at Ayesha and smiled at her.
"Neha didi why are we going walking, we can go by bus to my house"
Neha and Abhi shared a look and smiled at each other, "Ayesha look down there is water on the roads so the bus cannot work. That’s why we are going walking" Neha replied to Ayesha who was thinking very hard and that image of hers looked too adorable.
"But didi, why there is water on the road?"
"Because it rained a lot yesterday. So the water was stuck on the road" Neha again answered her.
"But did why did it rain so much?" Ayesha again asked and Abhi chuckled.
"Ayesha rains comes as per his will and we can’t do anything about it" this time Abhi answered her question.
Neha looked at her and found her in deep thinking, they had come on the main road and here water level was not so deep but till past their ankle. So Abhi set Ayesha down and they again resumed their journey. There were cars struck at both the sides, some people were inside it and others were walking. It gave a comfort to Neha that there were other people also walking and reaching somewhere. Sun had decided to show himself so that relief showed on people’s face, most of the shops were closed but some were open and selling the basic necessities they had.
They crossed the main road and turned to J P road to go to their destination. It was not near but they could walk and go. Ayesha would become tired after some time and one of them would carry her, there was too much destruction around them. Many had lost their houses and also their loved ones when Neha saw those people she felt like crying. But every time Abhi would know what she felt and will keep an arm around her shoulder. He would not sympathize with her or try to cheer her up but just be there with her, somehow that was enough for her.
