When you call a plastic surgeon's office to find out the cost of specific treatments, make sure you ask what the fees quoted actually cover. Sometimes you are only given the surgeon's fee, but your surgical procedure will include fees for the anesthesiologist and the operating room too. Ask if the surgeon's fee includes post-surgical visits. Many do, but you don't want to make that assumption and find out later that you will have to pay additional fees.

One final note: You should never select a cosmetic surgeon based solely upon fees. Always get recommendations from prior patients and check to make sure the surgeon is board certified in plastic surgery.
