We all know what gifts are for, but as for baby shower card, they can become the means to express your excitement for her little bundle of joy.

All these things were the fun and easy part of the shower, now comes the tough part. Finding the right words to write can not only be confusing, but also slightly frustrating. Why? Because the message you print in the card will stay with her for a very long time (as moms-to-be like to cherish every moment). So, to give your baby shower card a creative and personal touch, let's see what are the things that you'll have to keep in mind.

Writing a Baby Shower Card

To make the process as smooth and simple as possible, know this, being as honest and using words from your heart will give your words substantial meaning. The best way to start is by reflecting the mother's circumstances and experiences. Perhaps they are having their first or second child, or are adopting. Your card can mention something along that line and make note about their wonderful journey so far. A poem or verse could be a nice touch. You can add metaphors or compose a rhyming poem (with a touch of humor). Plus, who says you have to be a creative writer or poet to write what's in your heart? Just follow these tips and create your very own baby shower verses.
  • If you're nervous about writing a poem, concentrate on a one-line verse instead. You won't have to purchase a separate card, all you have to do is write it down on your personalized gift tags or engrave it on scented candles. The simplest (and classiest) way is to rhyme a word in the middle and end of your verse.
  • Perhaps the name of the baby is already decided. In that case, you can use the name in your verse, along with the parents' names. Construct a witty verse by rhyming as many words as you can with the name of the baby. Be cute and funny about it.
  • Now if you're more confident about making a new poem yourself, start with just 4 lines; you can go beyond that if you wish. For this, you will rhyme the 2nd and 4th lines. Think about what you wish to write and try to play with some baby shower sayings and phrases. To begin, write down all those words which are related to babies. Now start rhyming these words and fill in the blanks in your poem.
  • You can even use the poem to send out baby shower invitations and birth announcements. But it's not necessary that they rhyme every time. Try to construct a visual picture of what it would be like when the baby arrives. How much love and affection he/she will receive from everybody.
  • And if you really can't think of something on your own, it won't be so bad to borrow couple of lines from a few famous poems! You can even checkout greeting cards in the stores for some inspiration for good verses.
Once you have your poem, quote, or message ready, go ahead and strike it out from party planner checklist. And since baby showers are a happy occasion, you just need to relax and have some fun. You'll automatically know what to write in the card when you let go of all the worries and frustration, and concentrate on the bigger picture - the baby's arrival!
