Cowboy boots, as the name suggests, are boots which were used for riding purposes in olden times, or should I say solely for riding purposes, as they still are common in the country side. Cowboy boots were not luxury boots, or boots that a celebrity would choose to wear, as these were meant for horse riders specifically. Today, as we all know, cowboy boots are seen everywhere from the movies to the parties, each woman carrying it off differently. Earlier, there was only one style in these boots which is today called the western or classic style which had boots coming up to the knee, or at least a little above the calf middle. They have approximately an inch high heel, and have a rounded or pointed toe. The contemporary version is called the Roper with the height maximum up to 4-5 inches above the ankle and a minimum of half an inch above the ankle. They have rounded or squared toes, though the rounded versions are more common. Another distinguishing feature between the two is the use of lace. While the contemporary ropers use lace in their designs, the old versions have no lace. Shorts are one of my personal favorites to go with brown cowboy boots as they symbolize a confidence that can't be achieved be any other form of casual clothing.
