What to Eat for Lunch to Lose Weight
Now, first things first, I guess we all know that lunch is supposed to be the biggest meal of the day. That needs to be kept in mind. However, big meal does not mean that you hog. It only means that as compared to breakfast and dinner you can afford to eat slightly heavy stuff provided it is healthy.
In a Soup?
Lunch has to be filling, yet, you should not eat so much that you almost doze off. One of the best things which can help you achieve this precarious balance is having soup. Soups are filling as well as healthy. Get those vegetable based soups which have a consistency resembling a broth. That could be close to a minestrone or noodle. Just do away with the butter and go for a brown bread if you have to eat bread. Be it diet or just eating healthy, soup never lets you in a soup!
The Captains of Main Course
Brown rice, wheat pasta and the likes too are a good choice if you are confused about what to eat for lunch while on a diet. Team it up with baked potatoes, broccoli and salad. and you have a fabulous platter for lunch which is tasty as well as healthy and sumptuous.
Which is It?
No rice, no pasta, no soup? Never mind! You go anywhere in the world there is one thing you are sure to get. Any guesses? Sandwiches! Our favorite, quintessential sandwiches are great option. But do not load them with cheese and mayonnaise! Make it on your own at home or buy it, though remember to avoid mayonnaise and butter as well. If possible have a brown bread sandwich. Team it up with nice Greek salad or the likes and you have a nice lunch! If you give sandwich a little bit - like add Tuna to it and make a Tuna Salad sandwich, it will solve your lunch worries when pregnant.
Veggie Delights
A vegetable stir fry with minimum oil or sauteed vegetables - kale, broccoli, sprouts, re peppers, beans or even collard leaves in vegetable oil or chicken brother can be a fine choice for lunch. You can add seasoning as per taste. This can be had by pregnant women as well! No worries!
Tips on What to Eat for Lunch
Okay, these previous ones were the actual food items and things you can have. We are still not done! A few tips is just what we need here!
- Please make it a point to cut back on fats and cholesterol.
- Have freshly prepared food as far as possible, made with fresh raw materials. Do away with the processed food.
- Think a bit about lunch combination beforehand and stock things related to that option when you go shopping for grocery. That will solve half of your questions about what to eat for lunch.
- Let the dessert be full of fresh fruits.
