What to do When Locked Out of the Car

What can one do when they have managed to lock themselves out of their car? Use any of these solutions and be done with it. Soon, soon.

The Hanger and Ruler Trick
So this one is said to be one of the most effective tricks that can be used to unlock the car door when locked out. Use a hanger and straighten the knob of the same to make it absolutely straight. Then carefully push it through the rubber casing between the window and the door above the lock system. The next part will require that you fumble a little till you are reach the knob and are able to push it through to the end. If you have a steel ruler, this will become a little easier for you to take care of. When you push against the door, the lock will open up and you can enter it.

Tennis Ball Trick
How you get this to happen is not the only tricky part. You get a tennis ball and punch a hole through it so that there is a vacuum created when you press it against the lock. Then press it against the keyhole and push hard so that the pressure is able to push the jammed lock through and lead to a release.

Spare Keys
Seriously. This is one of the best means to ensure that even if you are locked out of the car, there is just no stress that follows. While keeping a spare with a neighbor or in your home is one great choice to follow, the other thing that you can do is invest in a good magnetic holder and attach it to the car. A magnetic holder has a combination lock and is attached so that it doesn't slip and fall. Just make sure that you find a good place and do not hide it on a spot that is too obvious.

Signing Up with a Service
Be smart about it and sign up with a car service like AAA. These services not only ensure that you will have assistance for a 'locked out of car' scenario but also when there is a flat tire, dead batteries or a break down due to any other unforeseen reasons. Sounds like a good plan and the yearly charge for signing up with the service is minimal.

Get a Locksmith
So this one will definitely work. And you can be assured of that. All you do is find a locksmith and get them to jimmy open your car for you.

Call the Police
This is another way that is seen to work and you should especially look into this solution if there is a child stuck in the car. All you have to do is call the car and ask for them to open the car for you. They usually have specialized materials by which they can open the car door for you.

Tow Truck
Your last and a slightly expensive option is to call a tow truck and have your car towed away. Most people will wait till all the other options have been exhausted to bring this into action.

There you go, these are all the options that you can look into when you're stuck out of your car with the keys still in and you don't really know what to do.
