What to Do in the Florida Sun
Florida is a great destination. There are many places to go and many places to see. With Disney World, famous golf courses, Busch Gardens, and the lovely beaches, there is so much to do in the Sunshine state with the sun shining on you.
Florida is called the Sunshine State. When the sun is out, there are many activities that you can do in the great state of Florida. However, before anything, and I say this as a reminder to people mostly who are not acclimated to the state of Florida, be sure to bring your sunblock. The Florida sun is very hot, and can be very damaging to the skin if you don't take proper precautions. The location of Florida is closer to the equator then any other US State, so be sure to add plenty of sunblock before you go out in the sun. Also, if you are applying any sort of moisturizing cream, wrinkle cream, or anti-aging cream, make sure to apply it more then you would normally in your home state. Ok, warning over, let's get down to the fun stuff.
In Orlando there are plenty of attractions. I personally enjoy Disney World and Universal Studios. It's really amazing what they did at those parks and how the people can enjoy such a close interaction with how films were made, and of course, interact with the Disney characters. Kids love this, and on a nice day, the rides are quite refreshing.
Busch Gardens in Tampa is another tourist mecca with tons to offer. Ride some of their acclaimed rides while you look at some exotic animals, or just take in the scenery on a sunny day. So much to see I can't even really get started.
Of course there are always the Florida beaches. White sand, tan sand, and clear sky blue waters are all common components of beaches when you think of Florida. If you are in Miami, you can watch South Beach's hipsters play volleyball, or partake in a boardwalk bike ride. You can even watch the cruise ships take off from the port of Miami. As they pass the government cut, you can watch them sail by from the outside patio bar at Smith & Wollensky, a popular steakhouse and seafood bar famous for Friday happy hours.
Lastly, there are great sporting events to watch while out in the sun. From the Miami Hurricanes and their collegiate sports, to the Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Rays, Florida Marlins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and let's not forget the northern part of the state.......Florida Gators and Florida State athletics....Florida really has a lot to offer.
So get your sunblock, get your family in gear, and visit Florida. It's a great time to visit all year-round.
