What to Do in Texas
There are many ways to find out about all the interesting things to do in Texas, but here I have listed my favorite things to do in the Lone Star State. There are many websites out there that offer helpful tips on what to do in Texas.
People come to Texas for many different reasons. Maybe you are coming to visit with friends or family or maybe you just spend some time living as a cowboy at a dude ranch, either way there are lots of things to do and see in the Lone Star State.
Visit a Theme Park
Six Flags over Texas: If you are going to be in the Dallas Texas area then take a short drive and visit the Six Flags Amusement park in Arlington Texas. The park offers something for everyone. If you are looking to take you young ones on some bumper cars and maybe even the merry go round you will have several to choose from, and of the older kids want to have a heart pounding, adrenalin racing experience this park offers many of them as well. The park is open from March to January. Check the internet for the exact times.
Fiesta Texas
Just as the park in Arlington the Fiesta Texas Park is also a Six Flags theme Park featuring many of the same rides as in the Arlington Park and with many of its own rides that can not be ridden anywhere else in the world like the Boomerang and the Goliath.

Rodeo:
If you are looking to see some of the biggest and most popular rodeos in Texas, then you want to come to the Fort Worth area in the early months of the year. These rodeos show are the perfect example of Texas's 3 R's ropin', ridin' and rodeoin'. These events were originally used for the ranch boss to test the skills of his employees. Now they are used to entertain folks from all over. Rodeos have become so popular some of the events can even be watched around the globe on Television.
Working on the Dude Ranch
Maybe for you it is not about watching the Rodeo, its abut being the Cowboy. If this is the case you have to check out a dude ranch. You can learn to rope a cow and ride with the herd. You can also sit around the campfire and eat of the chuck wagon in the great Texas wilderness.
A Day Shopping for the Ladies
Maybe while you are at the rodeo or the dude ranch the ladies would like to do a day of shopping at one of Texas's super malls and outlet centers. Shopping in Texas offers you all the same name brands as in NYC or LA, plus the many Texas themed shops offering great gifts to take home for friends and family
Sand and Sun Equals Fun
Texas has over 500 miles of shore along the Gulf of Mexico offering its visitors year round beach weather in nice warm waters. Every day the beaches are groomed to make sure that your beach going experience is nothing short of spectacular. Besides year round life guards the beaches offer playgrounds for the kids and food stands with a wide variety of foods and snacks.
Sleep Under the Stars or In between the Sheets
No matter what part of Texas you are going to visit you are never very far from a great place to go camping or many different motels and hotels that can fit whatever budget you have.
