What Makes a Man? - Chapter 7
Maybe to some people, dangerous is the new thing. This is what I picture Amanda to look like. This is not the end!!!
Where is she! I haven't seen her all day, I need to find her. Maybe it was a mistake to walk away. I need to tell her - "Shit" I was so zoned out that I knocked the books of some person's hand. "It's okay really. It wasn't your fault." I looked up as a pretty, tall, red head looked me straight in the eyes. I noticed her eyes were vibrant green. She shook her head and quickly went down to get her books. I bent down to help her but she insisted she could do it herself. It looked like she was hiding something, weird. I stood up and walked off wondering who she was. I know everyone around here and I don't remember seeing her anywhere, must be new. I opened the door so I could go find Lex when someone grabbed my arm. It was Amanda, Lex's best friend. She was also a red head and very pretty. She was average height and weight. Most guys would kill for her but I don't see her like that. I'm in love with Alexena and I felt like screaming that out to the world!
"Hey, sorry Nate. I'm really worried about Alexena. I haven't seen her anywhere. Do you know where she is? " She looked at me with so much worry in her eyes. "I have no idea, I wish I knew myself! I was actually on my way to find her. Want to come with me?" I offered."Actually, I wish I could. She was supposed to come with me to my brothers going away party. Plus, once you find her, I'm pretty sure you guys would want some.. alone time." It was amazing how well she knew us. I grinned, "Well, I guess you're right. I guess she must have forgot. She's been going through a lot so if I find her, I'll bring her by if she's up to it. Is that alright?" She grinned and hugged me. She nudged me as she walked by me threatening, "You do anything to my best friend and you'll regret it boy." She laughed and I chuckled saying, "I would never even think of doing anything to her." I ran over to my car hoping I would have some luck today.

I ran, ran so fast. The tears were streaming down my face non-stop. It's been hours.
Just then, I reached the forest that led to "our spot." I am usually afraid to go through the forest alone, but I couldn't care less right now. I ran through the path when I suddenly stopped dead in my tracks. I was standing right in front of Jesse. How did he know where I was? "Lex, stop running from me! Come on, this is ridiculous." He grabbed my arm tight, digging his nails into my skin. "Let's go!" He pulled my arm so hard it felt like it broke. He let go and I fell to the ground. "God, stop being such a little girl and get up. We're going somewhere." He picked me up and carried me to his car. I looked to my left and saw another car parked there. It was Nate's! No one was in the car though, where was he?
"Leave her alone, Jesse. Come on, man. This won't make her forgive you, it'll make her hate you more! Let her go." I looked back and saw Nate. His fists were clenched but he just stared Jesse down not making a move. Jesse set me down but moved so he was standing in front of me. He pinned me against his truck with his back facing me making sure I wouldn't move. "And what are you going to do about it?" He laughed. "I've beat you up once, nothing's stopping me from doing it again, Jesse. Let her go, she did nothing wrong. It was all you." He looked furious. I hoped Nate would run up and beat the crap out of him.
Instead, Jesse charged at Nate punching him hard on the side of his face. Nate fell backwards clenching onto his face. His nose was bleeding and he looked like he was in a lot of pain. Nate rolled over and stood up, scrunching his nose a few times then saying," best you got?" Nate walked up to Jesse and punched him in the gut once which made Jesse wince in pain. Jesse clenched his fists and turned towards me. I wasn't scared of him at all. He can't hurt me anymore. He looked me up and down and said, " You're not even worth it." He smirked. He laughed to himself and walked around his truck while muttering, "You can have her. She doesn't even put out." And with that, he drove away. Leaving a girl with tears streaming down her face and a boy that was willing to do anything to fix it.
