What Makes a Man? - Chapter 2

How could Jesse do such a thing? Or did he even? This is a picture of Nate. Sorry it's so short, the next chapter will make up for it. I promise. :]
What Makes a Man? - Chapter 2
I awoke due to the sound of my cell phone playing ''bassment party'' by the cool kids. I had nine missed calls from: Jesse, my mom, my best friend Amanda, Jesse, Jesse, my friend Nicole, Jesse, Jesse, Amanda. Just reading the name Jesse made tears form in my eyes. I began to cry, harder and harder. I kept replaying the happenings just earlier today and realized that Nate's arms were holding me in a strong, but comforting grip. I looked over to see Nate, still asleep, with a smirk spread across his face. He looked so peaceful, like an angel. I didn't want to ruin his peaceful sleep, so I tried to shuffle out of his grip without waking him. I failed. He slowly began to open his eyes when he snapped back into reality.

He tightened his grip and turned my body to face him. He looked me straight in the eyes realizing that I had been crying. The look on his face became serious, I couldn't help but look into his piercing blue eyes and forget what had happened for a moments time. He reached out and softly began stroking my cheek creating, electric-like shocks, that began to take over me. I have never felt this way about him before. Why now? I bet he's looking at me like I'm crazy. When he spoke, it was like a soft harmony. As he stroked my cheek while looking me deep in the eyes, he said, "He doesn't deserve you, Lexx. You're way too good for him." He kissed my cheek and said, "Want to grab some lunch? It'll be my treat."

I nodded as he let me go. We got up from my bed and walked out the door. I reached into my pocket and realized I had forgotten my cell phone. I told Nate that I'd be right back as I bolted up the stairs to my bedroom. Once I reached my room, my phone started ringing so I picked it up before I could even check who it was. "Hello! Alexena! Is that you? Where are you and why aren't you here? I've been worried sick!" His voice made me fall to the ground clutching my stomach." Jesse, leave me alone! I mean it. I know about you and Alison. So just stay away from me!" And with that, I hung up the phone never wanting to see Jesse's face again.
