Becoming a Dentist

To become a dentist in the UK you will complete your bachelor of dental surgery at university with a five year degree. Once completed the degree the dentist may choose to follow the hospital route for further training in a chosen subject or the dentist may join a general dental practice to do general practitioner training. Cosmetic dentist have specialized training in cosmetic dentistry. Although there is no GDC specialization in cosmetic dentistry there are many courses that a dentist can attend and complete to further their knowledge in cosmetic dentistry. Cosmetic dentistry courses include porcelain veneers, teeth whitening, dental implants and dental bridges. Also clear braces are a popular cosmetic dentistry course. Good cosmetic dentist are able to show what they attend and have attended.
