The man she is supposed to

Fathers are supposed to be

Show their daughters how to love.

He isn't the best example?
Am I on my own?

She's at a friend's house jealous
Because their father lives with them?

What did I do,
To deserve divorced parents?
Better yet, an alcoholic dad?

What is a girl to feel when
Her father is at risk of dying
Every second of everyday?

When everyday all she looks for
Is evidence that,
Nothing happened to him?

What is a girl to do when
All she is trying to be is a kid but
She has to be there to listen
And support her mother
When she needs someone.

When she's trying as hard as she can do,
Know as little as possible,
And love her father but she can't
Because everything she hears about him is bad?

How is a girl to feel when
She just wishes she could have,
The mind of her 6 year old sister,
So that she couldn't see her flaws,
Because she doesn't understand?

She wishes her family was normal?
