How do you spend time with someone
And then throw it all away?
How do you pick up the pieces and move on
And forget about yesterday?

The laughs we shared, the memories we made
Does it mean nothing to you?
How can you be so cold to me
And expect me to forget them too?

You say you don't want to lose our friendship
But you push me further away.
Talking about our past is "taboo"
It leaves me not knowing what to say

You say you never meant to hurt me
But I am starting to believe what I think I see
I was around to cure your loneliness
To fill a void temporarily

I should have seen this coming
And known where this was going to go
How could I have been so naive
Knowing what I know?

You say you ended it with me because you still love that person
I think that was just a good excuse
