What Has Google Ever Done For Us?
Google has been around for years now and has changed much over the years but is the internet really a better place because of it? What has Google ever done for us?
Better website content
Google over the years has forced website developers to construct better sites in order to get better Google ranking. Not to use duplicate content on your website as this can affect your Google listings. Google will reward you for always refreshing your content and continually adding pages to your website. So you could actually say Google has had a hand in building better websites. Ok apart from better website content what has Google ever done for us?
Sitemaps
OK the use of sitemaps on a website is far more common now as the Googlebot uses this page to help index your website better, as the bot can follow the links in this page to visit the whole of your website. It is arguable if any developer would even consider using a sitemap for usability purposes. More likely the only reason sites have them is to help their websites rank better. So apart from better website content and sitemaps what has Google ever done for us?
Adwords
Looking back in years to come I think Adwords will be a seen a major change in the way companies advertise. Adwords levels the playing field in terms of budget and the kind of exposure a company can get. For a relatively modest budget small companies can get exposure to millions of potential customers. Before the invention of Adwords this kind of advertising was impossible. Right apart from better website content, sitemaps and Adwords what has Google ever done for
Incidentally if you’re looking for an ethical SEO company to help improve your listings in Google that only ever follow white hat SEO techniques I would definitely give these guys a go.
Matching search queries
It’s a great testament to Google that when performing a search query that most people never goes past page two. That’s evidence that’s Google good at its job. All these things Google has done over the years is ultimately to improve the search results and yes they have made a lot of money along the way. Apart from better content, sitemaps, Adwords and matching search queries what has Google ever done for us?
P.S other search engines are available.
