What Computer is Right for Me
Before purchasing a computer, it is essential to note down your requirements. If you are aware of your needs, you can choose a computer that best fits your expectations and budget.

What Type of Computer is Right for Me?
In your quest to become a discerning buyer, you've got to be aware of your needs and tasks that you would like to perform on your computer. So are you a gaming freak? Or a techno geek who loves video editing? If you're someone with a technical background or a good pc knowledge, you know what I mean. Those unaware of what I'm talking about, have to just understand a basic fact - buy a computer with specifications that are best suited for your needs. Like, if somebody has to just check mails, browse the internet and work on documents, then a high specification computer won't be productive. Moreover, it will be expensive.
- Decide your usage areas and budget. Once your needs are decided, you can research and come up with a list of all computer brands that are available in that price range. The next step is to know about the specifications of those chosen computers.
- While buying a desktop pc, you've got to be aware of the hard disk and random access memory. If you've to store lots of information on your computer, then a hard disk with large memory is required. RAM, particularly affects the processing speed of your pc, hence it has to be a processor with good memory.
- Ask the computer dealer all the information related to the computer hardware. Know all about keyboard spacing, monitor size, mouse and other peripherals related to the computer.
- Ensure that you've been informed about computer security issues. Ask the dealer about latest anti-virus compatibility with your purchased pc and whether the anti-virus software is free of cost or on a trial basis, just for few months.
- Lastly, don't forget to consider various customer reviews and feedback on the Internet and electronic magazines (if you've got access to them).
